Rondout Valley Resort

The cabin has no hooks to hang clothing and not a lot of space to unpack. The kitchen has no oven mitts or ways to deal with hot handles etc. The water had a strong sulfur smell. And occasionally there was a septic smell as well.

After transferring from last year’s management to the current one, there is a lot to be desired. As an employee said,” We’re still catching up.” The wall ACs didn’t work and were replaced by portable and window ones. However our bedrooms had nothing but ceiling fans. We had to leave the doors open and use the kitchen window AC to cool off the bedrooms. The cabin stunk anytime we used the water and the toilet didn’t work properly. We complained when arriving and upon checkout. No refund, rebate or any monetary compensation was offered for our inconveniences which would have been the right thing to do. Also there is no more snack bar or eatery on premises, just food trucks Thursday-Sunday, which were gone when we got there on Sunday. It’s unfortunate because last year’s stay was pleasant and that’s why we returned. We will not be returning to Rondout Campground. We will find something else.

It was clean, in a good location and was pet friendly. The brochure said every cabin had an enclosed porch and a patio with a grill. It did not. You had to bring your own sheets and towels.

The only thing that was frustrating was that we thought we would be upfront but we were way in the back far from the pool and the festivities with seniors visiting it was tough to get around just the wrong location this app had us believing we were in model 11 and that’s just not the case

Cabin was nice and clean. There was plenty of room with dogs. The internet was terrible, and so was the TV system . For 188.00 a day, we should have a great network and cable company for TV. The water was terrible, and there was a lot of sulfur in the water. We had to go buy water due to dogs and also us got the runns.

We were going to an event at Arrowhead brewery and the location was perfect! The flatware was not clean. We had to clean before we using them.

It is a great place to spend time with your pet. They are family oriented so there are activities for children. Overall I recommend Rondout Valley Camping Resort to everyone who like hiking.

An excellent campground with many of amenities and trails around. Pool is a huge plus for summer! My cabin condition is almost brand new; check in process is pretty easy. They will provide all the info you need.

Exceptional

Be careful I was unaware that bedding, and towels were not provided. This is not a hotel or cabin, it is a vacant park model with a bad sewer system.

Supposedly had a deluxe cabin rented. Saw other cabins that fit the description of what we signed up for. The cabin we got was really tight for 4 adults and one young adult. But...we had doors...and a little privacy...even though we had to play musical doors to get us around the cabin. This was rustic but for us still decent considering that this group typically camps...in tents...in the woods...at the end of a trail. One downfall was the faint smell of the rvs around us and their dump hoses. One benefit was being able to have a campfire. Some of the windows had no screens so thankfully it wasn't too buggy. There is heat throughout and ac in the living room area. Plus we had a small kitchen and were able to make ourselves breakfast each day. If you are high maintenance and only enjoy the "finer" things, this place is not for you. If you like camping but are getting a little old for laying on the floor of the forest, prefer actually having a real roof, with a full shower and a kitchen with a real stove and sink, like us, I'd definitely recommend this place.

Our cabin was extremely small, which did not fit my 6'3" husband well. It was clean, but minimal amenities (no tv, spotty wifi, cold at night). Some of the staff was sweet and some were not at all. It was a fine place to sleep, but I do not intend to stay here again.

It was affordable, offered activities for the kids, and was a great place to hang out hats while visiting the duchess county fair. We will come back.
