Lovely staff! Stained carpets, poor floor and wall insulation, bed not made each day, cold. And the train shakes the building.

Very nice hotel, clean and helpful friendly staff. Will stay here again.

Food was good and hot. Noone at the front desk at time of checking or checking out. Also asked for room to be cleaned and new towels utilizing the tv app on Sunday morning at 8:30am, left the hotel and returned at 7:30pm and it was never done.

Hotel Anthracite fit the bill, presented a good alternative to the local chain hotels, and gave us an opportunity to see more of the area than just in Scranton. Hotel was clean, efficient, and the breakfast was great. Service was good and we had a totally fine stay. It's in a small town without a ton of folks moving through, so very sleepy. I am not sure whether there were more than 2-3 other guests in the hotel while we were there.

It is in a central location. They also have a good parking garage. The restaurant and bar had no staff during the week.
