Lamp Lighter Inn and Sunset Suites

Location is GREAT- that is why we chose this place. Breakfast was as expected and was adequate. Everything was as expected- no complaints. The staff were very helpful and friendly.

Cute and cozy stay like the rest of Carmel. Perfect location—walking distance to the beach and everything in downtown. Especially loved the attentiveness and kindness of the staff and Gatsby, the cat :)

The craziness.. Nothing

The staff was very friendly and helpful. Lamp Lighter Inn's location is ideal for a visit to Carmel by the Sea. We will definitely stay here again! The continental breakfast is somewhat limited, but that's common these days.

Location to the beach and town was perfect, the bed was comfortable and had a lovely continental breakfast.

We brought our dogs and our suite had a private backyard area which was very convenient.

Near downtown & beach Some staff are presumptuous, I booked the unit for me & my husband. When we checked in my friend was with us and I showed her our unit cause I find it cute, but the staff came at us and assumed that I’m going to sneak a third person. I was so disappointed & humiliated.

The breakfast was fine and the fire pit was warming. We did not need a family suite and would have been happier in a single room at a lower price. I prefer to make reservations by phone directly with the hotel. I believe single rooms were available. Because of the reservation company I did not know that all rooms accepted dogs or cats? I am allergic to both and would not have chosen to stay where I might get sick from my allergies. However, the room was very clean and I stayed well with just a stuffy nose.
