Sleep Inn Marion - Cedar Rapids

It was very nice

Initially we were concerned about noise as a large sounding dog was barking every time we passed by it’s room, and we could hear voices in the adjoining room. But all settled down for a quiet, restful night. Breakfast was passable. It was not unlike other hotels using frozen pre-cooked and packaged sausage and scrambled eggs, and discounted coffee. Stick to the biscuits & gravy and the pancakes if you want a hot breakfast, If Continental is your preference, you will be satisfied.

The bedding was comfortable. I liked the pillows. The water pressure in the shower wasn’t that great. We’ve stayed in hotels just as good for half the price.

The main issue I had was that there was a constant smell. Like it use to be a smoking hotel and they haven’t got the smell out.

Linens and towels stained and dingy, hair piled up against baseboards and in corner of bathroom, carpet dirty, brown liquid dried on the wall and curtains.

There were winged ants all over my room I woke up to them crawling on me

It’s located by several restaurants and Walmart is right across the street. The bath tub needs to be resurfaced and the paint is peeling on the wall around the tub. The tub needed to be cleaned better it has a light ring around it

The room was very small.

We've stayed here several times. Good value for the money. The room was reserved using Expedia. The only concern was a very delayed and frustrating check in process.

I liked that we had a refrigerator and the waffles/sausage were wonderful for breakfast! I did ask the front desk staff to replace towels and toilet paper while we were gone for the day, returned at 10pm and it had not been replaced. Otherwise staff were friendly and the room was comfortable.

It was just ok. The breakfast was noteworthably terrible.

This place was a huge surprise. I had no idea that the new sleep in corporate stores are so nice. I’ve stayed in five places in Cedar Rapids in very similar type arrangements. And this is by far the best. Breakfast is outstanding. And now the best breakfast that they offer and she Rapids at a hotel complimentary situation. Rum was immaculate, clean and nice and just a great visit.

It was good . Price was spendy for what it was.

I would describe the hotel and our experience as completely average. The room and bathroom were clean enough, bed was comfortable enough, the breakfast was just ok and was out of bagels, butter and salt by 8:30 a.m. on a Saturday morning. I felt the rate of $186/night was pretty high for the average experience.

The parking lot is a bit off the beaten path, it's a a nice property for a short stay in Cedar Rapids.

Location is very close to a major intersection. Rooms very noisily all night, will not stay at this location again
