Hyatt Place Chapel Hill / Southern Village

The hotel was very nice, with only minor cosmetic issues that could be fixed, but overall, the fit and finish were great. The staff were always super polite and helpful. The location is rated 3/4 only because, while it is close to many attractions, it is situated in the middle of nowhere; you have to drive unless you are willing to walk along the state highway. The GPS directions from Booking.com did not bring me to the hotel, but rather behind it with no way to access the entrance, so I actually drove right past it the first time. Breakfast looked nice but was not that great overall; it is acceptable since it is included, but nothing to write home about, which I found a little surprising to be honest. Honestly, I cannot complain about much besides the breakfast, which just wasn't good; for instance, I had a waffle that was toasted to a crisp, a hash brown that was only semi-crispy, and my wife didn't like the eggs at all. Bacon good as always. Fruit was fresh, no yogurt.

Many times, we've enjoyed staying at the Hyatt in Southern Village. However, sadly, our children are moving to SC, so we will no longer have the need to stay here. It is a wonderful hotel within walking distance to Southern Village and all its amenities. Great Staff. Always friendly and very helpful.

I think the best part was that it’s so close to Southern Village.

Our room and the facility in general was very clean. Everyone was very helpful and since my husband was going to have a procedure at UNC Memorial Hospital, the staff was helpful with things that we needed to help him with his stay. The breakfast was nice and I think most people would like the breakfast. I had difficulty with the breakfast because I am on a low-carb no sugar diet, but I was able to eat eggs and fruit. Overall a very nice stay. We will stay there again.

We stayed here to be close to the Ambulatory Surgical Center at UNC. The staff were very friendly and accommodating from the get-go. The hotel is conveniently located for the Surgi-center and places to eat. If you have hospital business, they have a hospital rate for stying there.

This property was very new, clean, with hot water, exceptionally clean, conveniently located to town. . The location was very peaceful even though it was on a busy road.

Clean spacious rooms and staff was very friendly! Front desk reception Ananda was very nice and informative of amenities and area. The bar was fully stocked and the bartender was great!

Overall great stay only complaint is the shower lacked water pressure.

The location was central and easy to access to the city. The staff was friendly. The room carpets were very dirty and sticky. Additionally the HVAC internal unit was right in that room which was so noisy. So we couldn’t sleep well.
