I have been coming to Middleton for over 20 years and I am still in love with its serenity and charm. The only negative I could say is that the free breakfast while it has a lot of options needs a little TLC to make it enjoyable. The Inn and the grounds are a peaceful oasis and much needed break from all of life’s hustle and bustle.

Room made me feel like I was in the cabins in Tennessee and the food and drinks were amazing. Only downside I experienced was the lack of an offer of an upgrade or bottle of wine due to VIP status. Overall, I had a grand time which was relaxing.

The pool area is not well kept or clean. Breakfast included, but same food was offered everyday over 4 days of the stay, so we ended up grabbing breakfast out. Not convenient to downtown Charleston or the beaches if you are looking to go there.

Staff was extremely welcoming. This is a stunning property.

The grounds are absolutely beautiful. The staff all seemed friendly and helpful. There is not a lot of room for clothes. There is a small closet but no drawers in the room. It is about a 35-minute drive to downtown Charleston

Beautiful grounds and very accommodating staff! Our WiFi was sketchy and some of the shutters were broken.

Breakfast was fantastic! Wouldn't change a thing about it The literal ONLY thing I would change is the pillows! They went so flat as soon as you lay your head down. Everything else was great!

I had a great stay at this property. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained throughout my visit. The staff was friendly, professional, and always willing to help. The location was convenient, and the overall atmosphere made for a relaxing experience. Breakfast was good, and the amenities were exactly as advertised. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to other travelers.

We enjoyed our visit and will be back again next year.

The views are breathtaking. It’s a perfect blend of history with beautiful gardens. The historians at Middleton did such a great job to honor and share past stories, making this vacation not only a relaxing one, but also interesting. We enjoyed the weather greatly, the nightly snacks and drinks were a great addition- what a way to share a sunset on our anniversary trip! We might not be back right away, but will tell others to visit- 100% recommend as a relaxing adult getaway.

We love this place. Have been twice now. Not as clean as the first time I went but service and staff is still as great.

This is our second visit and it was more wonderful than the first. From the moment you enter your room, walk through the gardens or just sit and watch the wildlife over the Ashley River and marsh it’s captivating. Our meal at the restaurant was amazing and I would give the chef and staff a 5 star rating. Already planning a return in fall.

It being connected to the Middleton Place grounds was great. We walked the paths and saw so much wildlife. The hotel was also a treat as it has great views of the Ashley River and the marsh areas across the river. We will go back again.

What a beautiful stay we had at a peaceful, serene inn on the banks of the river next to Middleton House estate and gardens. Our room had everything we needed, bed was super comfy . Walking distant to Middleton house and restaurant with complimentary tickets to the gardens and tours.Breakfast buffet was excellent . Will stay here again in a heartbeat.

    Wonderful place to stay.

This was a fantastic stay. Felt like a grownup summer camp in the best ways. Staff was helpful and cheerful, our room was clean and comfortable (and wow to the window wall!), the rain-shower was the best we've used, the views and amenities were wonderful. Great breakfast and happy hour, enjoyed beautiful Middleton Place and had a refreshing swim in the unheated pool. Already plotting our return. Truly fun, interesting and enjoyable.

The fact that you get free passes to the gardens is such a good deal (normally $35/person). We walked roughly 10 miles in 3 days seeing the gorgeous trees, happy animals, and getting delicious food at the restaurant in the gardens. We'll definitely be making this an annual trip for us!
