The hot breakfast was better than similar quality hotels. They pride themselves on their hot cinnamon rolls which were tasty. At breakfast the second day, the turkey sausage didn't look cooked completely. Signage for the pool needs to better reflect that it's "down this hallway, through this door, and then down the outside steps." Our large group was using the breakfast area for a family get-together and there were a couple of lost guests who were in the right hallway, but turned away when they saw the large crowd. They did get directed.

Area was clean and comfortable. The staff was excellent at keeping every thing clean and responsive to questions. We stay at a Holiday Inn Express whenever we travel (if one is available). Unfortunately, our stay was less than what we have come to expect (usually a "10"). Perhaps because the weather was hot and humid, our room (421) had a strong mildew smell and was not acceptable for a person with a chronic breathing issue such as my husband has (with his Parkinson's Disease). When I ran my hand across the vents on the AC, dirt was left on my fingers. My husband almost fell off the toilet because the toilet seat was being held on by one element which secures the lid. It wasn't flushing properly either. Water was having issues draining when turning water on for the shower. I would have assumed the person cleaning the room for the next guest would have alerted maintenance to these issues. When we advised the from desk (within 20 minutes of checking in), she immediately started the search for another room. She personally checked it before offering the room and allowed us to check it ourselves. The AC in this room also had a stale smell but one we could deal with. I did receive a text from the mtce supervisor the next day asking for a time to check the AC but we had already moved (508). Both the floors in the bathroom and kitchen area were sticky (again perhaps the humidity that day (6/26/26). As I look back on my response here, we travel the Holiday Inn Express will always be our first choice. The hotel (Dent, Ohio Cincinnati West) was almost, if not full, because of an event locally. The Holiday Inn in Harrison, Ohio was our first choice (closer to our appointment on 6/27/26) but was full due to the same event. The front desk was excellent about all this. Can I add that each time, we passed the front desk the staff member always STOOD UP and greeted us pleasantly. As busy as our stay with softball players coming and going, the staff (front desk, housekeeping, and breakfast service) were always pleasant.

It was OK not enough variety over a three-day stay

Nice hotel. Friendly staff.
-
Very nice staff and the room was clean!

I didn’t like that you couldn’t adjust the temperature of the room. It was way too cold but other than that, it was a nice stay.

Quiet clean room. Have stayed before and will be returning! Great hotel.

I will give a thorough review. Front desk - super kind. Unfortunately, part of the reason we chose that property is the pool. It was closed all day. Next - Parking would have been plentiful if several worker trucks didn’t park laterally and take them all. Room quality was average. Note to those with feather allergies - they have feather pillows. We were able to ask the front desk for regular pillows since one of us does have that allergy. Super thankful for her! Bathroom cleanliness was 99% clean but edges were dusty/dirty and I’m pretty sure I saw blood. Bring your own toilet paper. Beds were comfortable. Cable had several variety of shows. We also picked this location for having breakfast. Great breakfast hours. Kind staff. Food was painfully subpar. Pancake maker undercooked. Only dairy milk. Raisin Bran and Froot Loops. Oatmeal. Cinnamon roll was prepackaged and the best part of the meal. Biscuits and gravy, sausage, and egg white omelet were edible but not tasty. Typical juice and coffee. Overall - would not stay here again.

The stay was fine until a tour bus checked in. Those travelers basic took over the whole hotel. The staff was clearly not prepared for this level of business. Those are type of trips are booked well in advance. Giving staff an opportunity to prepare. Staff treated us poorly on Sunday morning telling us we could not get any bread because they had already put out 6 loaves. We could not get a yogurt because they had already put 84 out and advised the church group of putting them in their purses. My stay was supposed top include breakfast yet myself and my daughter were denied. This maybe an annual trip for me so I was hoping to lock in a good hotel right away. Left feeling like I was not a valued customer.

Quickest chreck in ever by Jen at the front desk. Room was super clean!

The hotel itself is nice enough, but the staff leaves something to be desired. They had a whole bus for a church group come in. The group took over the whole hotel. Sunday morning when I went to get breakfast I was told I could not have a yogurt because the church group ate 84 of them. I was told they would not put out any more bread or biscuits for the same reason. This is unacceptable as I paid for a room where breakfast was included and did not get any breakfast. As a hotel you know when you have you're bus coming you plan for that. You don't make other paying guests suffer.

Room didn't have enough towels the first day. Also disappointed there was no pancake machine.

We stayed in Room 217 at end of hall with (2) queen sized beds. I showered 2-3 times while we were there (a day and half) and not one time did I have a hot shower. I waited at least 10 minutes to see if the water would eventually heat up and I once again was shivering by the time I got out. Hard to give a 3 month old and a 4 year old a shower in cold water. Piece of trim missing of bed headboard. Not important, but when you pay almost $160 a night you would expect better. Small tv as well and room could had had a bigger refrigerator.

Location made it easy to get onto and off the highway from GABP

The overall experience was great. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, especially at the reception. However, the experience with the breakfast buffet staff was not as positive—one staff member seemed to watch our every movement, which was off-putting. The hotel itself is nice, but it definitely needs to be revamped, as the furniture and amenities, such as the gym, feel outdated.

Called to see if I could check in at 1. Was told it would be 25.00 extra. Told them never mind. Got there, went in and tried to check in at 1. She told me she would like to charge me 10 dollars extra. I said whatever.
