Fairfield by Marriott Inn & Suites Columbus

The room was very clean and the staff was knowledgeable about every question I had.

Even though the reservation was tax exempt, the front desk required payment of additional taxes before allowing check-in. Now we have to deal with fixing that. Poorly designed shower flooded the bathroom floor every time you use it, had to request more towels, and needed to place multiple towels around shower just to keep the entire floor from flooding. Check-out time and breakfast times were not listed anywhere and were not explained during check-in. Warm breakfast food seemed low quality, and not as good as most hotel offerings. Cold food selection was ok. Room AC seemed to struggle keeping the room at the set temperature, resulting in a poor sleeping experience. Poorly designed parking with no walkways, had to drag luggage over curbs and grass. Overall, not a good experience.

We were in Columbus because we had placed my mother-in-law in hospice. The manager and staff were very kind and helped us find an extra night. This is a wonderful place to stay, It was quiet, clean and the breakfast was wonderful.

Price higher than advertised because of additional casino-related taxes. Beds were not that comfortable. Front desk clerk charged my credit card twice and then couldn't fix it (also didn’t apologize or appear to care for her mistake). After having to explain the double charges to the manager multiple times, he eventually offered bonus points for the hassle - turns out the amount of bonus points he gave me is equivalent to a free coffee from Starbucks, but of course he made it sound like it was worth more. And the additional charge is still on my credit card! Never staying here again

I also have a problem with making a Marriott reservation through expedia. After I made the reservation I found out I am not eligible for marriott reward points because expedia gets a substancially reduced room rate. I'm not sure what difference that makes points are established by the cost of the room. More points for more expensive rooms, and less for less expensive rooms. Except through expedia. Then you get no points. I now understand that the reduced rate room was the room Marriott couldn't market (outside noise), so give it to expedia. Let them market it for a reduced rate. I note that the rate was not better through expedia. Just about the same.

Great breakfast

Stayed the night here because my daughter had surgery at Columbus hospital the next morning. Everything was perfect minus the fact I was charged for more taxes and then had to run my card for incidentals a second time. Not sure why this is but I already pay for the room and taxes thru hotels.com

The breakfast was extensive: scrambled or hard boiled eggs, waffle maker, toasting variety, yogurt with MANY toppings, hot oatmeal also with numerous toppings and BACON!! Coffee, milk and various juices made this an outstanding buffet style breakfast. Oh, and had the weather been warm, the patio outside the breakfast area looked very inviting! So all in all, this hotel gets high marks from my husband and me. We will stay here again on our way through - and maybe even have time to hit the casino next door!

They hit you with a 47 dollar tax for ‘casino fees’ on check in that is not included in the charge from booking.com. I asked for a receipt of my room charge and the room charge receipt did not have the casino tax on it. I asked to have it sent to me and still haven’t received the email. Room rate on booking.com started at 122. The regular hotel taxes were another 25. Then the casino fees take it to 194 per night. I won’t stay at this facility again. I consider that terrible service when you can’t produce a receipt at the time of checkout.

Loved the stay clean room great service. Breakfast was ok wish that had Biscuits and Gravy though! I didn’t use the pool but it looked great!! This was a Family function and You all did an amazing job!! Thank You!!
