Candlewood Suites Cut Off by IHG

They have very nice spaceous rooms. The room was spotless. The beds and pillows are very comfortable. A generous amount of Dove soap, shampoo and conditioner are provided. Rooms have mini stove, kitchen with all cups, glasses, silverware, etc. Refrigerator is large. A/C cools us down to 68, the way we like it. Our dog loved the room too. Holiday Inn Express next door has a deal with them and everyone goes there for 5am cold breakfast and 630am hot breakfast with scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon and biscuits and sausage gravy. I will definitely stay there on all my fishing trips down there. Respectfully, Phillip Alleman

Best hotel in Golden Meadow!

Room was clean, staff is very welcoming, the app is great as well, ill be back for sure again, business trips is my reason.

Our biggest issues were with the hotel itself: We stayed on the second floor in room 210, we weren’t very close to the elevator but also not too far and we could hear the VERY loud dinging all night long. Another major problem, we stayed on the same floor as the Mississippi valley marching band (they were in town for Mardi Gras Parades) and all night long they were popping their heads out from their doors along the whole hallway to yell back and forth to each other. I confirmed this because I stepped out to see what the yelling was several times. They also used the elevator at all hours to travel to different friends on different floors, contributing to the excessive loud dinging of the elevator. The WORST part about the above, is that at 1-5am every night, the whole floor smelled of weed. I had 2 kids and an infant in my room and it was overtaking our room in a serious way. I had to roll towels and put them on the doorway to keep it from seeping in. We should not have paid to stay here and never will again. My 12 and 10y old asked me several times what that smell was… it was straight up weed. Unacceptable.

The guy that checked us in deffinately needs a raise. He was amazing. The hotel was beautiful and clean. 20/10 stay

Everything was great. Nice large room, clean. Check in and check out was smooth. Front desk was very polite and cordial. Great stay and we’ll be back.

⭐ 1/5 — One of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had. Avoid this place.This hotel is nothing like the photos and the grounds reeked of cigarette smoke, and the overall appearance felt rundown and neglected.The receptionist looked completely unprofessional and acted like basic customer service was an inconvenience. There was no parking available for me, and when I explained that I needed to cancel because of this, I was met with zero empathy. She told me to park at a Holiday Inn or even a Walmart down the street—an absolutely ridiculous and unsafe suggestion. When I told her this was unreasonable, she then said she would mark me as a no-show and charge me anyway. I was shocked—I was standing right there, explaining my dilemma, and her response was essentially: either park off-site or be charged as a no-show. Once I realized the conversation was going nowhere, I asked if I could video the interaction and was granted permission. I will attempt to upload it as evidence of the poor customer service. Between the misleading photos, the unpleasant environment, and the shocking lack of professionalism, I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone. Easily one of the most disappointing and frustrating experiences I’ve had while traveling.

Clean room, next to a good restaurant for late dining, and staff is very generous and helpful, im staying here any chance I get!
