The Madison

Wonderful small hotel. Amenities are sparse but the hotel’s charm makes up for it. Honestly, some water and ice were all I needed after a long hot day. Parked on the street, which was not at all difficult or far from the property. There is parking behind the hotel but very limited. However, the area is safe and quiet. Will return!

When you walk into The Madison, you feel transported to a different time. I felt like I arrived on a mystery movie set as I admired the dark academia vibe. The staff were awesomely helpful, nice, and made the stay enjoyable. My room was very comfortable.

I loved this place. My trip was not for pleasure, someone was in the hospital so it was close. Jerry was so helpful with everything from helping me with carrying my things up stairs to helping me with a refund because I had to shorten my stay. If I have to go back I will definitely stay there.

A minor detail you can improve, put some WD40 lubrication on the door hinges of room #13, they squeak and could wake up guests… The toilet in the room is annoyingly small for grownups!! Otherwise 10 out of 10!

The rooms and lobby were beautifully decorated and they offered free beverages at happy hour. Odd location, in between private residences, one of which had chickens and roosters that were quite noisy in the morning.

Had to move to this property after my first room didn’t have working AC. The staff was so accommodating and able to check us in early too. Loved the room and staff. Thank you for everything!

Didn’t like street parking but it is what it is. The hotel was wonderful. Love the theme and the vibe. Very comfy bed.

Suburb customer service; excellent communication, clean and comfortable rooms, meticulous attention to detail in the restoration. Everything was good!

Safety issues. Hotel won't take responsibility if anything happens to your car when you park in their narrow alley leading to several spots considered "compact", or on the street in this seemingly regular neighborhood, or when you trip on the metal ramp leading inside that has no tread or when you experience another guest that is crying and physically slamming things at 12am or possibly even hurting eachother. and they tell you the desk isn't manned all the time so it's assumed we wouldn't be assisted with all the messages stating this fact. Manager Stephanie minimized this stressful, harmful situation as "sensitive to noises" and gave an insulting 45 dollars to keep quiet. She claims they were "fixing the ice machine at 12am" and that's what you heard. No. We heard much more than that and manager gaslighting our genuine concern didn't help. Don't stay here especially if you don't want to be afraid for your safety or worried about your property. Also before visiting the Madison, make sure & look up the location, pretty far from the actual walking area in the Bishop Arts District, we were very surprised. Do research and stay somewhere else. It's not worth saving 50 dollars for this one until they fix their security & get better management to handle genuine concerns.

Very kind and helpful staff down to the details like walking in with a pizza box and immediately asking if we could use napkins. Very cool boutique hotel!

Good location

The building is beautiful and in a good location. The walls are very thin, you can hear everything going on around you. The room we were assigned was right next to the back door that leads to the parking lot and the door is very loud when it closes, it was inconvenient. The parking lot is not large enough to accommodate all gusts, so you have to park on the street.

No AC in rooms. Uncomfortably hot in the room, AC worked fine in hallways, but room was stuffy with no air circulation.

Gem of a boutique hotel! Awesomely decorated. Love that it’s located in a charming neighborhood setting and within walking distance to the Bishop Arts District. Will definitely return!
