The place is great and the rooms are great. The only thing I’d say to anybody considering staying here is bring your own food and drinks if possible. Even the casual restaurant is crazy expensive. 21 dollars for a basic burger type stuff. 11 dollars for 1 non tall boy can of hard seltzer at the pool type stuff.

The property is absolutely beautiful. A mecca for car and motorcycle enthusiasts. Amazing!!
-
stayed here one night and 3 other motel/hotels this week, this was by far the cleanest and nicest room we had. Even better than some of the well-known brands we stayed in this week. Would differently go back and spend more time here,

Do yourself a favor and GO TO HAZEL's! The food is excellent and the service is outstanding. The bartender makes a mean Cadillac Margarita, so let her make you one and tell her Jerilynn and Mary (two motorcycle chicks) sent you!

Everything ok clean and as expected

We stayed in rooms at the hotel. The lobby is unique and so pretty with beautiful views off the back deck. We were impressed with the room cleanliness and attractive decor. The pool is a huge space and the ice cream store a perfect treat after a round of putt putt.

The room was clean EXCEPT for the floor which likely hasn't been cleaned EVER. We had to keep flipflops on or else the bottoms of your feet are so dirty...just gross. Had dinner at the Canteen, the young Phillipino guy was so charming and the food was very good. Just a note tho - putting the salad in a colorful strainer was cute - but given it has HOLES in it and the dressing leaks out all over the table, probably need to rethink that one, ya? Breakfast the next morning - awful - told the Canteen offered a "full breakfast"...it doesn't. The muffins and assorted pastries were all STALE...everyone left them on the table. Took the young girl working the front alone over 30 minutes for a cappucino & a muffin. I asked for a bagel instead, took another 20 minutes as she toasted it, then dropped it on the floor. We were the first ones in there, an hour later had nothing but coffee. The "arcade" - full of broken machines in pieces...lovely. Dinner at Hazels - great food but staff has no idea how to run the place. Went to bar for drinks, 20 minutes completely ignored. Had to laugh after a while at how bad it was...oy!

The property was large with various accommodations from small cabins, family size cabins and a couple of mult-room motel type buildings. We stayed in one of the motel buildings. It was quiet, clean and comfortable. There are many hiking, fishing, rafting and siteseeing options near by plus an on site swimming pool. The property originally the construction center for Fontana Dam in the early 1940s. I have enjoyed rafting on the Nantahala, riding the Tail of the Dragon on motorcycle and by car. Dining options are limited and not all facilities are handicapped accessible with stairs to some. We will go back.

Great

Scenery was great. The room was clean, but the room floor was dirty. The hallways smelled musty. Overall it was a great stay, just could be a little better.

So nice that we extended our stay. Pool and lazy river are a lot of fun, pickleball, mini golf and disc golf all available on site. Good restaurant food and easy access to the mountains roads. Great for spirited drivers and hikers. Even have car wash stations available. Definitely making a lot of return trips to this lodge.

Most of the staff are asian exchange students who mean well, but don't know what they are doing or don't know the english language well enough to help you. Who ever is managing the staff is not around to answer their questions. The actual buildings and grounds are very nice.

The room was very nice for a lodge so deep into the mountains. Because I brought my boat with me, I might get a cabin in the future to have the extra parking space. The pool/lazy river/splash pad was also relaxing to hang out at until the rain storms passed by. The Quill Cantina had unexpectedly good food. The pizza, french dip sandwich, and sausage-egg-cheese biscuits were all delicious and were fairly priced given the quality. The sausages were a little thin compared to the egg, cheese, and biscuit, but we did eat them twice in the same weekend. I would also recommend getting a golf cart to get around the resort if you don't want to drive your car. The village is quite large around a mile in length all on the side of a hill. The staff was very helpful and friendly as well as the other guests, so make sure to leave your bad mood at home! Parking was also very convenient. When getting gas at the village, it was expensive like at any marina. The lake was also incredible, so if you are driving more than two hours to get there, I would seriously considering renting a boat if you don't have one just to look around. They do have a tour, but I am not sure if they stop to let you swim. We will definitely be returning and might make it an annual tradition to go there.

Overall good, tv didnt work properly

It was fun to be able to walk around the entire resort… down to the general store, the ice cream parlor, the restaurant for a tasty beverage, coffee, and a delicious breakfast burrito in the morning… and walkback up to our room. The walkability of the entire resort was fun for us. We were there to be close to Fontana Dam and it’s very convenient.

This place is beautiful. Lots of walking paths for your dog. Amazing scenery. The only thing is make sure you have all the food you need before you get there. There is a store but not much but GREAT ice cream.
-
The pool was out of service the whole part of our stay. The cabin was run down and there were holes in the walls and doors. Some staff were rude and not helpful when issues were brought up.
-
Beautiful setting. Beautiful mountains. Nice porch and balcony, both public and private. Clean and well-maintained rooms. Good breakfast at the coffee shop, although Hazels was closed except for weekends. They were very accommodating at the front desk, giving me a room that was functional for me and my disability. We didn’t use it, but it looked like everyone was having fun at the pool, seemed family-friendly.

Wow, what a gem! Impressive facility and staff, highly recommend! We will definitely be returning in the future!!!
