Most of the staff are asian exchange students who mean well, but don't know what they are doing or don't know the english language well enough to help you. Who ever is managing the staff is not around to answer their questions. The actual buildings and grounds are very nice.

The room was very nice for a lodge so deep into the mountains. Because I brought my boat with me, I might get a cabin in the future to have the extra parking space. The pool/lazy river/splash pad was also relaxing to hang out at until the rain storms passed by. The Quill Cantina had unexpectedly good food. The pizza, french dip sandwich, and sausage-egg-cheese biscuits were all delicious and were fairly priced given the quality. The sausages were a little thin compared to the egg, cheese, and biscuit, but we did eat them twice in the same weekend. I would also recommend getting a golf cart to get around the resort if you don't want to drive your car. The village is quite large around a mile in length all on the side of a hill. The staff was very helpful and friendly as well as the other guests, so make sure to leave your bad mood at home! Parking was also very convenient. When getting gas at the village, it was expensive like at any marina. The lake was also incredible, so if you are driving more than two hours to get there, I would seriously considering renting a boat if you don't have one just to look around. They do have a tour, but I am not sure if they stop to let you swim. We will definitely be returning and might make it an annual tradition to go there.

Overall good, tv didnt work properly

It was fun to be able to walk around the entire resort… down to the general store, the ice cream parlor, the restaurant for a tasty beverage, coffee, and a delicious breakfast burrito in the morning… and walkback up to our room. The walkability of the entire resort was fun for us. We were there to be close to Fontana Dam and it’s very convenient.

This place is beautiful. Lots of walking paths for your dog. Amazing scenery. The only thing is make sure you have all the food you need before you get there. There is a store but not much but GREAT ice cream.

The pool was out of service the whole part of our stay. The cabin was run down and there were holes in the walls and doors. Some staff were rude and not helpful when issues were brought up.

Beautiful setting. Beautiful mountains. Nice porch and balcony, both public and private. Clean and well-maintained rooms. Good breakfast at the coffee shop, although Hazels was closed except for weekends. They were very accommodating at the front desk, giving me a room that was functional for me and my disability. We didn’t use it, but it looked like everyone was having fun at the pool, seemed family-friendly.

Wow, what a gem! Impressive facility and staff, highly recommend! We will definitely be returning in the future!!!

Room was fair, but poor lighting. Pool was closed for the week, due to "incident". Unfortunate but unavoidable, I suppose. No offer to compensate in any way.

Dirty, worm infested, dingy lines, rude staff

Great staff in the restaurant- Hazel’s

Beautiful area in the mountains

An outlet in the bathroom was not secured in the wall properly & when the hair dryer was plugged in, it tripped the GFI switch. This was repaired the next day. The Keurig coffee maker did not function. Staff was informed & a regular coffee maker was left in the room, but the Keurig was also left. Upon closer inspection, I determined that a previous guest had attempted to use it as a regular coffee maker and had put ground coffee in the place where the water goes and then tried to brew coffee, which plugged all the tubes & orifices. I spent 30 minutes cleaning it, which fixed the problem, and then I was able to use it. Staff might want to put out some simple instructions for the use of the Keurig type coffee makerbto avoid this in the future.

location is great but the property, rooms and restaurant were not great
-
The property was beautiful and the views of the mountains were breathtaking. Quills Canteen has the best coffee and is so cute. I loved being able to walk around everywhere, how friendly the staff was, and the property in general.

Nice room. Great food at Hazels. Mold on ceiling room
-
Facilities are nice if they were cared for. Very bad front desk staff and management. The food is also bad. Recipes are bad and they are prepared bad. The fireworks BBQ was garbage. A 3rd grader could do hotdogs better.

everything was great, except the buffet breakfast.

Location to event. 10/17/25 & 10/18/25. Cleanliness of the room overall very poor. Multiple safety issues. Adjoining room door does not have a lock just a chain & a chair to keep in "secure". Smoke detector not functioning and no cover. Ceiling light rusted and hanging from ceiling. Shower door not functioning properly very difficult to move to enter or exit. Bathroom light missing cover. A/C missing grill. Entry door peep hole in door stuffed with paper. Mini fridge missing shelves. Not so critical : Single bar of soap. One decaf coffee pod. I would have a hard time recommending a stay here. This is my second stay and not much has changed.
