Abbey Resort and Avani Spa

Property very well kept and located in a lovely part of Lake Geneva. Plenty of green areas and porches, very walkable. Breakfast not included

Location of resort. Great location next to marina and a short walk to lake. Good dinner at the nicer restaurant. The property could use a refresh. The room was humid and hallways had slightly musty smell.

Overall very pleasant. Would recommend to everyone.

Exceptional

We enjoyed a wonderful dinner with a beautiful window view. The food was of high quality. The only demerit was an old fashioned that was not particularly good. The patio door was not clean giving an unsavory appearance to the room. It was dealt with promptly when we mentioned it at the desk. We also needed to request a remote for the tv as there was none in sight.

We spent 2 days at The Abbey and they were wonderful. The surrounding area had a great sports bar (Chucks) and there's a good coffee shop down the opposite way (The Coffee Mill). We spent a day at the spa ( workout facility, adult pool, steam room, sauna, and salt room). We will possibly return to The Abbey again next year.

Front desk staffers were incredibly inept and created a hassle out of nothing. On duty manager was basically helpless. Wouldn’t recommend staying here.

Was there on a quick two night stay alone, however, they did put me in an area that was literally swarming with families and children. For families, it’s awesome as they have tons of activities and plan events throughout the week. I took advantage of the spa with my daughter (16) unfortunately we both had mediocre experiences. I’ve had massages all over many many styles and places. This was probably top five not anything to write home about. And my daughter had the same experience. I got a massage, I barely felt it, my daughter got a facial…she said she didn’t feel it either and face didn’t even feel any “cleaner” a special event for a teen should be exciting and pampering, disappointed we were both so underwhelmed. The hotel is nice in a nice area and i would definitely go again with the family next time

Views were outstanding. Mattresses on beds were amazing! Didn't get lake view room. Facility was not very "senior friendly". Needs grab bars in showers/tubs.

The grounds and the activities were great, but the reason I gave the Abbey only three stars was because of the horrible mattresses in the room. They were worn out and had no support. When I laid down, my head and feet were higher than the rest of my body which sunk into the mattress which had no back support whatsoever. The bed mashed down when you sat on the edge. When you stay at a hotel, you look forward to having a good night’s sleep to enjoy the next day. That definitely didn’t happen at this hotel. They need to invest some money and replace all the mattresses in the rooms, especially considering how much they charge per night.

Great place to visit

Great place. Beautiful and peaceful setting. Floors were a little thin as we could hear everything above us. Could use a little modernization to make it extra posh but that’s not really the vibe we were looking for. The resort fits the vibe of the area

We enjoyed walking around to experience this beautiful property. We very much loved our stay and will be back.
