Alyeska Resort

We were told the sauna and other amenities required reservations because they were busy, but they appeared empty. The sauna was also barely warmer than room temperature. Beautiful location, but the interior, cleanliness, and amenities need improvement to justify the premium price.

I have to say we were not impressed with dining options at Alyeska. Very limited option. This was our 5th visit to Anchorage &surrounding areas and we had much higher expectations. The local seafood options are highlights of every Alaska trip, and this resort definitely disappointed. The Italian restaurant Forte had one fish on dinner menu, and one we do not like. Breakfast however was great, so disappointment of eating pasta for dinner in Alaska was forgotten. Overall, still recommend Alyeska, and we will stay there again (this time with adjusted dining expectations).

Beautiful hotel. Wish we were staying longer. I can’t imagine there is a nicer hotel in all of Alaska.

Really enjoyed the pool.

We enjoyed walking the property and nearby trails. Alpine tram seemed expensive for a quick ride, so we passed on that option. Spa was wonderful.

Booked Nordic spa on premises. Hoping for a nice relaxing end to trip before long flight

Girdwood is a very fun place to explore!

Best place to stay in Anchorage area. Very nice facility, beautiful mountains. I will definitely stay there if I go back.

The hotel is located in a beautiful spot. You cannot beat the views! The staff were very friendly and provided good tips about seeing the area. The room we had provided a fridge and coffee maker. It would have been really nice to have a microwave as well. The pool, sauna and hot tub area were very nice. You just need to make a reservation to use the facilities and can't really just show up to jump in the pool when you feel like it unless it is a slow day. We did enjoy the two restaurants that we went to on the property. The drinks and food were very good along with the fantastic views! We ultimately preferred the Abar over Forte as the vibes were more cozy at the Abar. The last thing I would highly recommend is doing the Winner Creek Trail that starts behind the hotel. It is a beautiful trail with a gorgeous waterfall at the end. Well worth the couple of miles of hiking!

Connie is great at her job and so knowledgeable about the area too! Appreciate her professionalism and above and beyond hospitality discussing local fishing with my son.

It was a nice resort. I absolutely recommend booking time at the spa. The hotel is functional yet needs a good remodel in some areas. Especially the beds; they were extremely uncomfortable. The room was very warm; it was a summer visit. I do not believe they have AC. They do provide a fan, so this may not be a deal breaker. Otherwise, a good visit.

Loved our stay here, the staff was amazing, the spa was magical, and it was a perfect home base for our time exploring Girdwood and Whittier

Valet and bellman staff was fine and so was the front desk. We promptly got the room on the forth floor. Due to construction, we requested a room change and we were shifted to the sixth floor immediately. After that it went down. We reserved a table at the Italian restaurant at 7pm. We were seated at a suboptimal table in a far corner. The restaurant was almost empty at that time. After we requested another table, reluctantly, one was given to us. The food took a very long time and the quality of Eggplant Parmigiana was bad, it was still partially frozen and tasted bad. We did speak with the manager and she did apologize and took the charge for that off the bill. The Chicken cacciatore was not good either. We were so frustrated that we did not eat that and did not complain about it. We just paid the bill, added a 18% tip ( normally we tip at least 20%) and left. Poor experience! We don’t write reviews often. We are on an Alaskan vacation and taking time out to write this long reference.

Disappointed at not being able to check into our room at the suggested time of 4:00PM. Apparently the rooms were not cleaned.

Such a beautiful resort nestled away in the mountains. Gorgeous views!

Exceeded our expectations!

Breakfast options are incredibly expensive and they were sold out of sandwiches at the bistro with only pastries at 9:30 am. Seems like you’d know how many guests you have staying and plan accordingly. No free coffee option is disappointing. It took us 35 min to check into the spa and we already had a reservation and had paid. We tried to lunch at the restaurant but waited or over an hour for grilled cheese and salads. Some of our group didn’t have time to wait because they had massages scheduled. Again- doesn’t seem like they planned on guests actually being there.
