Many Glacier Hotel - Inside the Park

Positives: Gorgeous setting. Swiss-like esthetics. Loved that you could walk to the trails and not worry about finding parking before beginning our hike(s). Ate at the lounge restaurant and it was very good. Also thrilled to have a coffee shop, snack shop available. If able to, go to dinner one night at the Swiftcurrent Motor Inn restaurant (just a couple minutes away driving) then walk down to Fishcap Lake (nicknamed Moose Lake). It’s about a 5-10 min easy walk. We visited this lake 3 times and saw moose 2 of those times. When visiting after dinner around 7, it was like the animals were paid actors. Deer all around, birds, beaver swimming, and a huge, bull moose. One of the highlights of the trip! Negatives: a small hike is necessary to get to the parking lot. There is not dedicated guest parking, so during the day the lot fills fast due to others not staying at Many Glacier wanting to use the easily accessible trails. During the day, it is hard to find parking. It was not a problem when we left for dinner and returned in the evening. Our room had a balcony but the bench and floorboards were covered in bird poop so not really usable. Shower was tiny and room definitely was warm for sleeping with no AC (but expected—it is July at a national park lodge, afterall)

Beautiful views

We stayed in a double bed room on the basement/lake floor. Special treat to have a second door with screen door that opened to the lake side of the hotel. This part of the hotel has an elevator for which we were grateful, especially after viewing all the stairs both inside and out. The room was comfortable with fan and even a small desk. We took the hotel tour offered each afternoon. Our tour guide was interesting and shared much of the history of how the hotel was built, remodeled and remodeled again--had a notebook of pictures that helped understanding of the changes over the years. We ate in the Ptagmigan Dining Room for breakfast--the breakfast continental breakfast met our needs. Lunch and dinner were enjoyed in the Swiss Lounge. There is also a small store on the lake level of the hotel which sells snacks, drinks and other food options. Staff in all hotel locations were friendly and helpful. Excellent choice IF you can get a reservation!

Truly a fantastic experience.

The staff was great, the rooms were clean. Many Glacier resort offers alot of activities, to include the entire family. If you can live off the grid for just one vacation, make this your destination.

Hotel is old and rustic. Could use updating. Bathroom was tiny. Paint was peeling on the door. Bathroom fan was noisy and the light didnt always come on.

Beautiful historic hotel with panoramic views of the mountains. This hotel has several amazing trails surrounding the area that will blow your mind, this is a must stay property you have to experience!

Loved the history!!!

You can't beat the location of this hotel and the convenient access to top hiking trails. The staff and dining are excellent. I have stayed here twice and my only complaint is that the mattresses are uncomfortable.

The only thing I need is for Many Glaciers to put in a huge hot tub. All our leg muscles are exhausted from the incredible hikes.

Loved how the hotel encourages people to play music in the main lobby seating area. It creates a lovely sense of community. One warning for those who hope to hike. You need to get up SUPER early to find parking for the most popular trailheads. So plan accordingly.
