Very clean room in a unique, well-appointed, yet affordable inn. Our family enjoyed our stay in this one-of-a-kind place.

I loved that this was an old building with lots of character. I slept well, shower felt great. There is a restaurant/ brewery in the building with great food. Try the brussel sprouts , amazing! They had a continental breakfast, grab and go stuff and an ice machine. Would love to stay here again if we get back this way.

Hotel was a very nice historical property. Our bathroom and shower could have used a little help. It was showing a little wear. The room and staff were very nice. The restaurant was very good.

I was looking for a different experience from the chain hotels, and I got it. Would stay again, but if someone in your group can't take the stairs, this isn't the right place for you.

We started our stay by having lunch in the restaurant. The beer they brew on site was very very good as was the food and the service. Our room was spacious and clean. Comfortable bed. The only negative was our experience in the pub they have in the basement. It was a mediocre experience. So we recommend the hotel based on our experience with everything except the pub. Plenty of free parking as well

The place was emaculant!! The only problem I had was their bed was more comfortable than mine at home.?. The location was perfect for a History nerd like me. The staff, were the greatest!! The French Onion Soup at the restaurant was the best I ever had. Nothing!!

Love the Vintage decor and charm. Clean and comfortable.

We liked the king-sized bed and the hideaway bed being pulled out and ready for us. The only staff we ever saw was the restaurant hostess. She pointed out our room to us and we had to ask where we could find a key for the room (she had laid it on the tv stand in the room), and she told us she had just turned on the AC for us. Therefore, the room was blazing hot and we had to strip off our clothes and remain in undergarments to prevent overheating for an hour and a half (we checked in at 9pm so the room should have been ready). In the morning, not a soul was in sight. We couldn’t find anyone to guide us to breakfast at 9:15am. I finally went into the laundry room in the basement and found a woman doing laundry. She informed me that breakfast was set up on the second floor down the hall in front of the other bedroom doors. How were we to know that? We found pre-packaged processed muffins, oranges and fruit, packaged applesauce, and yogurt parfaits. Not what we were expecting with an inn that is also a restaurant. There was orange juice and coffee. Coffee was horrible. There was no one to check out with, no one who provided an invoice or asked how our stay was. What a waste this place is. Go stay somewhere where human beings are actually present and at least pretend to care about your stay. Even a Comfort Inn or Holiday Inn would have been much better.

Perfect place to stay after visiting Gettysburg before heading to Philadelphia.

    Nothing

We have stayed several times at the Altland House and its always excellent. The only negative is that a very small area behind the bathroom door and shower door could have been cleaner, but it was not a major problem.

Now, the antique nature of the building is "cute" but not practical. The "continental breakfast" was an afterthought by the management. Nothing hot, just a muffin, yogurt, and coffee. We drove to Hanover to get breakfast. Now, as to the bathroom. This is its own disaster. Imagine a claw foot tub that belongs in a museum and you have it. It's huge, has an extremely slick finish and is not safe if you try to climb in and expect NOT to slip and fall. It may look pretty, but it's not safe. The shower is another experience. The walls have no shelves... nothing. You need to leave the shampoo and soap outside or put it on the floor... your choice. The bathroom sink is huge, but there is no countertop space around it. What a joke! It's all for looks, not functionality, same as the shower. Getting hot water is another challenge, run the water in the sink for at least 5 minutes to get it warmed up. Then, if you come back an hour later, you'll need to repeat that drill. The hot water in the shower takes another 5 minutes or longer. What a joke!

Everyone should experience several nights at The Altland House. It's truly a special place. Our room was an "interior" room and we heard no traffic. Real for keys!! The brewery in the basement and the restaurant on the main level were superb.

Friendly staff. Easy check in. Beautiful property. Dining options were top notch. Close proximity to neighboring towns such as New Oxford, Hanover and Gettysburg.

Great overall. Staff was super friendly and helpful!!

The meal and the dining room were excellent. The complementary fruit/Pplesauce was a bit lacking (hence the 9 rating).
