Fairfield Inn by Marriott Hartsville

Booked here for the pool but it wasn’t open. The room was very spacious. Breakfast was good. Staff friendly.

Parking

It is a very tired and outdated hotel. I could never get the outdated door key slot to work and other travelers walking by my room while I was trying to enter made the same comments. The a/c was not thermostat controlled and kept the fan running continuously. Very annoying during the night. After spending one night, I was afraid to try the breakfast. My star rating is very generous for the lousy hotel it is.

Curtains was dirty, room door did not close ,bathroom tub was clogged,toilet door was broken, ironing board was broken and the list goes on. In order to keep a good reputation for this Hotel something has to be done.

Breakfast juice machine was non functional. Bagels but no cream cheese. Swimming pool inoperative.

First and foremost, I would never stay at this property again. One of the main reasons that I chose this hotels was due to the pool. Well, it was not operable. The carpet in the room was filthy. The 3-year old walked around the room barefoot and we were disgusted at how dirty his feet became. Imagine trying to keeping a 3-year old in shoes and/or socks. Breakfast was included, but don't get thirsty and need water or juice because the machine was broken. They had no bottled water to give us nor to purchase. Forget calling down for assistance from the front desk on the weekend. The lady working did not answer the phone. After having to leave the room and go downstairs, her being on her personal phone was clearly the reason. This happened several times. Oh, let me not forget that the water was off due to a pipe bursting. Ask me if were we notified when we walked in from our outing. (NOOO). We found out when rushing to the bathroom and attempted to flush the toilet. Let me stop here before I get upset all over again. As I said in the beginning, “I will never stay at this hotel again. It was more like an overpriced motel. Thanks, but no thanks.

Employees were nice and helpful. They ran out of drinks down stairs …… had to use water fountain…. It either buy our own drinks…

The room itself was great and the woman at the front desk was so sweet. The tv in the room was pretty bad though, we couldn’t really figure it out

overall, we had a good stay. We were just a little bummed out that the pool wasn’t up and running, and it was not stated at the time of booking other than that the rooms were clean. The breakfast was good.

I’ve stayed at this location in the past and enjoyed my stay. This particular time, was mediocre. The pool wasn’t in service, breakfast was average simply because there was no juice or bottled water. The television in my room worked when it wanted to. However, I was offered to move to another room. I declined due to me already unpacking and settling in. With these complaints, I should have been compensated. This place has to do better. I came all the way from Philly to not be able to get in the pool is ridiculous.
