The breakfast provided was subpar at best.

Amazing place and an amazing time!

Wonderful staff. Nice, clean facilities. Great rooms, great area. Enjoyed a morning walk along the river. My only complaint was that the breakfast was a bit on the lacking options side and in a very small cramped serving area.

Wonderful!

This time had a few glitches, from 12pm to 4am the room next to ours was noisy and even after talking to the night clerk nothing was done to have them be quiet. The main amenity at a hotel is a good nights sleep and that was a fail on the staff's part, The chairs in both rooms should be replaced as they are worn and the legs are coming off. We did not use either chair. Our stay at the Independence is usually faultless and this was not the case this time.

I asked if I could check out later and Monica accomadated me I still left before checkout but she gave me peace of mind. She was also helpful with information regarding sightseeing. Paige also took down my number and called me when my room was ready rather than waiting until 3. I only had breakfast once but for the price I think you can work a little more on the food. I'm still rating a 5 star because I loved how clean it was.

Nice modern, clean hotel. Located in a great location within walking distance of downtown Independence.
-
selection was meager. Coffee ran out several times. To be fair, there was only one young lady in charge of the entire breakfast bar.

Both rooms 204 and 109 need new desk chairs, they are worn out. Second night, the neighbors in the room next door were too loud from 12-4am. Dressed, walked to the night clerk, and asked him if he could quiet them down. He was young and new. That request seem to make him extremely incomfortable, possibly because he was new and quite young. For the rest of the staff PLEASE emphasize your quiet hours with guests. All of us are expecting a quiet and restful sleep in a hotel as a basic amenity. We have stayed here numerous times and every one before has been great.

Are staying independence was very pleasant, our room was big enough for our little family

This place was clean and convenient area for my dog. There's a park right next door and a nice view of the river. We had dinner at the restaurant but the food was just mediocre but the service was great. The rooftop terrace was nice too. Would definitely come back here !

I enjoyed staying at The Independence because it was clean, the private spa, and the value for the room. I slept well, it was a clean smell in the air, and the breakfast had a good variety with really tasty coffee. I wanted a midpoint between Portland and Eugene, and it really is a nice place that I would stay again in the future with my family. This was a solo trip, and I truly enjoyed the scenery. Everyone was nice, and attentive.

Very nice hotel right on the river
-
Exceptional in every way. I couldn't have enjoyed it more.
-
Beautiful hotel with excellent customer service. My go to location when in the area.
-
Very quiet.
-
They need a better designated pet area and smoking area outside.

A wonderful hotel in a small little town, a gem. The hotel is a five star in cleanliness and comfort. Walking distance to old town with just the basics cafes and restaurants. Had a nice walk by the river. Friendly staff. Looking forward staying here next time.
