The location was great.

It an old hotel built in 1947. The room was big and so was the shower. Although the shower didn’t get very hot. The floor were beautiful, but uneven and squeaky due to the age of the building. People below you hear all the walking around. If you want authentic at a good price this is the place. Word of advice do not eat the breakfast buffet; it just an over priced Motel 6 buffet. Not worth the price

very rustic, we enjoyed it

The lodge met or exceeded my expectations, but there are a few things I wish I knew before going. Good points: 1. The room was clean, quiet, and looked recently updated or renovated. We stayed in a room with two queen size beds, perfect for our father/daughter trip. There was a large TV with Roku. (Someone had stayed logged in, allowing us to watch a few shows (and I tried logging out--it didn't let me) But thank you, whoever your were!) 2. Wi-fi worked great, and there was a mini-fridge, microwave. No cooking allowed in the room, but there is a restaurant attached to the lodge. We didn't go there, though, as we left early morning both days we were there before it was open. Other points: 1. We stayed in a room that didn't have a floor above us. Some reviews have said they found it noisy, so that might be a problem in other rooms. Our room was really quiet. 2. No utensils, paper towels, etc. available. I guess that is natural, but just keep that in mind if you want to prepare sandwiches, etc. Bring everything! 3. The shower had less water pressure than the sink next to it! Ha ha. I don't think that's anything they can fix easily, though, and the detachable showerhead was nice! I would definitely stay again!

Perfect price and location to Yellowstone

They didn’t clean the room and no bed making. Just gave us more clean towels. No breakfast, no coffee maker in the room.
-
I arrived after the front desk was closed but they had my key and room ready to go with a lock box.
-
If there is a coffee making besides microwave and mini fridge will be great

Check in was a bit rough. We were given a key to a room that was already occupied. The second key was to a room that smelled strongly of cleaner. The third time was a charm. The room was larger and in a newer part of the building. Our room was spotlessly clean and beds were comfortable. It could benefit from having one comfortable chair.

This place was Spotless! Very comfortable bed with a great TV. Shower was great. If you don't use the shampoo, you're truly missing out. Heavenly scent. Next to a grocery store that doesn't kill your wallet & all you outdoor activities, 4wheeling, snowmobile & jetski.

The room was clean and cozy. It was nice to have the restaurant so close as dinner was excellent and the breakfast buffet, although not part of the room cost, was excellent. Having a grocery store and gas station next door was really helpful.

It was good

* This place is only about a 25min drive from West Yellowstone, yet the rates are much reasonable than comparable hotels in W Yellowstone. * The staff was friendly & helpful * The room was clean & well maintained. Negative: * No complimentary breakfast. * There was no table or desk in the room to place essentials such as laptop, snacks, keys, etc. * No iron or ironing board; I had to wait until the office opened & ironed on bed. * The room may be adequate for a single traveler, but cramped for two adults, with a king-size bed. After-hours Check-in: After-hours check-in instructions could be much clearer. Instead of simply saying, “If you arrive after hours and the office is closed, get the key from the lockbox,” it would be much more helpful to say, “Your room key is in the lockbox located in front of your assigned room.” We arrived around 3am after a long drive from Bozeman & naturally assumed the lockbox was outside the office. We spent nearly 30 minutes unsuccessfully trying to access the lockbox there. We called the office number, but there was no after-hours assistance. Just as we were about to give up, we noticed that each room had its own lockbox. Only then did we realize our key was waiting upstairs outside our assigned room. After carrying our 50-pound luggage up the stairs, we also discovered there is no elevator. Had I known this, I would’ve asked for ground floor. Why not disclose this and ask floor choice.

The room was clean and the air conditioner worked well. The hand soap in the bathroom dripped all over the floor after it was pumped. The shower curtain didn't keep the water in the shower. It leaked all over the floor. However, the staff accommodated our request to check in after they closed the main office.

Small room but very clean and recently renovated. We stayed 2 nights and just needed a place to sleep and shower. Would stay again, if in the area.

Loved the Woodsy Lodge motif inside or out. Full-service restaurant onsite. Full grocery store with popular prices adjacent to property. Quiet edge-of-woods setting. Good air-conditioning when needed, and cool mountain air at night. Very comfortable bed and pillows. Nice LARGE 4K TV mounted on wall. About 22 miles from West Yellowstone, MT and park entrance. Close to two summer-stock musical theatre playhouses and dinner theaters. We enjoyed our two-day stay. (Wished it were three!) Priced well compared to other facilities in the area.

The place was excellent. Only problem was the air-conditioning was not too good in the laundry room needed a couple more washers and dryers.

There seemed some confusion when we were checking in regarding checkin times but it was quickly cleared up. Very comfortable beds. One note: the TV is Roku, so there are Roku channels but not normal channels, but there were still lots of choices to watch. I had scheduled the room for a Yellowstone trip, not realizing it was a half hour away...and that main street is 30 miles long. It took a minute to find. SO maybe not the best if you're planning a Yellowstone trip, but a great hotel if you're in the area.

The room was great. It was spacious and clean. The TV offering was much better than most places. Getting to the room was another story. We got to the hotel close to 9:00 pm. There was no one in the lobby. There was a message on the counter with a number to call. It rang for awhile and then someone answered in a small voice, "hello." For a second, I though I had wrong number, but no. When the young lady came to the desk, she was pleasant. Then she said, there is a sticky note on the front door with your name, room number, map and a passcode to get into a lockbox to retrieve your key. Humm. The map was a hand drawn map on another sticky. I tried to follow it, but it didn't seem correspond with what I was seeing. After about 15 minutes, I finally found it. Then I tried the passcode to retrieve the key. It didn't work. I called the same number and someone begrudgingly came to help me. The code he gave me was different than what was on the sticky. He shrugged and left. In the morning, they offered a buffet breakfast for $15 per person. It was similar to what you get at hotels that offer free breakfasts, so we passed. We found a place down the road with a much better and cheaper breakfast.

Room is clean but the front door is dirt and stone not a cement ot wood. No canpoy on the fron door, so when it rains you will get wet while opening the door. Breakfast is not included which cost $15.00. Buy your food before going to the hotel as everything is closed. At night you can hear dog howling.
