The Palm Oceanfront Hotel is one of the few hotels on Isle of Palms with private beach access, and honestly, that’s the only real advantage of staying here. For the price, the rooms and amenities fall short. The rooms are smaller than expected, not as clean as they should be, and the in‑room AC units are extremely loud—especially at night—making it hard to sleep. The continental breakfast isn’t worth waking up at 6:30 AM. Parking is available on-site but comes with a fee, and if you book multiple rooms, make sure you’re charged per car, not per room. Take a photo of your license plate before heading to the front desk on the 1st floor. The small outdoor pool on the 2nd floor is nice, and there are plenty of towels for both pool and beach use. However, the housekeeping staff felt rushed in the morning, almost pushing us toward checkout. Overall, you do get beachfront access and can enjoy the ocean all day, but the stay itself may not be as pleasant as expected.

Clean rooms comfortable bed friendly staff. Hotel is convenient to restaurants and beach . We will stay again !

There were restaurants on either side with bars which made for a variety of evening entertainment options. Staff was very nice and helpful. Breakfast area is very small but options were adequate. Free parking area was very limited and tight under the building but paid spot jn the municipal lot through the hotel worked out very well.

Updated from the last time we stayed. Very clean and friendly staff. The only issue is the heat in the elevator and on the floors before you enter the rooms.

They have Continental breakfast, so there was no meat, but there were two pancake machines. Cold boild eggs were the only protein. Humidifier in room blows out hot air to keep the rooms from molding. This place needs an upgrade to modernize their facilities.

Great stay

We recently stayed at Palms Oceanfront Hotel with a partial ocean view room. The room itself was comfortable and we enjoyed the view, but housekeeping could have been a bit more thorough—there was noticeable dirt and dust in some of the corners. On the positive side, the room was well-stocked with plenty of towels and washcloths, which we appreciated. The complimentary breakfast was also a nice perk, offering fresh fruit, yogurt, hard-boiled eggs, cereal, juice, and other basic breakfast items. Overall, it was a pleasant stay with a great location and good amenities, though a little extra attention to cleanliness would make the experience even better.

The location was unbeatable. Right on the beach and walking distance from bars and great restaurants. Our room had no window which was not disclosed prior to booking, we found out upon entering the room. The AC hardly worked and was more of a humidifier, making the room extremely dry since there was no window access. The price we paid was not worth it, however the location helped.
-
The beach view was unobstructed. The air conditioner worked well (noisy, but nice and cold!).
-
The staff was so friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and quiet. We will be back.
-
This room was not as advertised. The AC barely worked. Ended up leaving a day early because it was so hot. Bathroom was tiny and hot with no air circulation. The room phone didn’t work and maintenance was not helpful with phone or AC. Very disappointed
-
Rooms were nice and clean. Only complaint would be the elevators are very slow.
-
Great location with easy access to beach right beside restaurants and easy walk up drinks & clean room. Pool area is very small with limited chairs & no shaded spot/umbrellas but they do provide towels. Paid extra for partial beach view from balcony but got a view of the restaurant next door and couldn’t even keep my curtains open due to people being right outside of your room eating and can’t see beach due to building in way so that was frustrating. Comfy bed with nice cool air and a full size mirror in room

Very nice!!
-
Great location. Walk right out to the beach and walk to restaurants. Felt like parking should have been included.
-
Great spot other than the parking.
-
The staff are kind and helpful. The room was clean, breakfast was delicious. Overall great place to stay.

We really enjoyed that the hotel was centrally located to a lot of places we ending up going. The beach access was the best. We didn’t like that our sheets on arrival had stains and hair that wasn’t ours. Every time we’d check the sheets after they’d been changed, there were always stains and strands of hair that weren’t ours. Also, the floor was constantly sandy, on arrival and after the room was “cleaned”.
