First night arriving we had an issue in the room we were assigned, it was brought up to the front desk. The original room had to be shut down and they were wonderful in giving us a different room which turned out to be better than expected. It was our first time in Hawaii and the room upgrade made our experience on the island so much better. Thank you to the staff especially Marissa for the wonderful experience at the resort.

Everyone makes mistakes, it's how you react to them that counts, and Paradise Bay Resort did very well! Sunset, Sunrise, Kayak, repeat as necessary 😊

This place is awesome but my one complaint is I wish they would open the gym at 6 instead of 9am
-
Very nice well kept resort only issue is the driveway very steep to get to our room
-
Beautiful setting, spacious suites and extra-spacious balcony area. Everyone friendly and helpful. There was no fan in the bedroom. This small addition would have made a huge difference to nighttime comfort.

This place is where the customer is always ‘wrong.’ Although the location is beautiful, the rooms and service will make you feel like this is far from paradise.

Amazing tropical gardens, views of mountains and ocean, helpful front desk staff….. but rooms tired and rundown. Cockroaches greeted on the first day in kitchen area but seemed to disappear afterwards. Refrigerator needed defrosting. Crack between sink and fridge needed cleaning. Bathroom tiles have some mildew. Leaking sink. Issues reported and were addressed. Also, don’t recommend rooms directly under the reception area. Woken up early every morning to footsteps of staff and people seeking coffee and banana bread.

Beautiful place to stay off of the beaten path

We liked the remote location away from the more touristy areas and the views of the bay and mountains.

The room was dirty and had bugs. There was one A/C unit in one room and no fans to circulate the air to the other rooms. My husband had to sleep on the couch as the bedroom was so hot. The room was on a severe incline which made the views spectacular but so many steps with our luggage and no option for help or notice on the website. As we are an older couple, this was a problem. The staff was nice checking in and the location was great, just not kept up properly.

The grounds of the complex was lovely. Staff friendly and helpful. The room was very basic in furniture and utensils given it was self catering. The ac and fridge seemed to compete for who could be loudest and the table which was quite tall only had one high chair the others were shorter stools , which made eating slightly interesting. Our room had no view and sitting outside was not possible given the noise of the adjacent lodges ac. We cut short our stay and booked into a different hotel. I am still waiting for booking.com to respond to my messages re refund, which the hotel did say they would provide.

The bed was incredibly comfortable and a real sense of privacy in the room / studio enhanced by the balcony overlooking the hills and pool. Pool was fabulous. The reception where you can hang out to the dulcit tones of their five evenings a week Hawaiian singer, has a totally wonderful view of the mountains and skies. Staff were efficient and very helpful. The ONLY minus points which can be easily rectified was a bedside unit and light missing from one side of the bed. Also the bathroom desperately needs shelving which could easily be done. Lastly, a few powder creamers would be a boon along with the coffee when you arrive late and tired. Another point was the parking cost which other than being the only resort we stayed at which charged was hiked up prior to our arrival. It was reduced back when we complained but it it felt a bit out of order. Otherwise well worth a longer visit than the five nights we had. A fortnight would have been a treat!

Not as advertised, couldn't reach staff during emergency. Left in the middle of the stay due to unsafe conditions and no help.

We realer liked staying here! It was like a small resort that was easy to stay at. The staff were great.

I liked the location and the large deck connected to our room. The views of the water were nice. They loaned us snorkel fins, chairs and even a cooler on our beach day which was great. I appreciated the banana bread and water station in the mornings. Staff was nice. The walls are super thin and I heard everything. The TV in the room next to us was on the other side of the wall to our bedroom so it was hard to go to sleep while they were watching movies. The timer lights outside to all of our stairs goes off so fast that we were in the dark a lot. The driveway is very steep and most cars were skidding out on it because it was wet. We were thankful to have an all wheel drive. Not always easy to find parking.

The "resort" is located in a rather junkie neighborhood with litter, an abandoned vehicle, unkept adjacent properties, and garbage dumpsters. (1) They offered beach towels for guests to use but they never gave me the token (card) to get the towels. When I inquired at the desk they initially refused to give me the towels. I had to argue (politely) with them to get our towels. (2) I went to the front desk twice to ask for an extra washcloth. They never had an extra washcloth available during our three day stay. (3) Eight coffee pods were included in our room for four people for three nights. I asked at the desk for a few extra coffee pods and they refused, stating that extras cost $2.00 per pod. While the view is exceptional, the units themselves are nothing special. They have no dishwashers. There is nothing like doing dishes on vacation. All little things, you say? Yes, but for $5,600 it is annoying to have to beg for a towel or a washcloth. P.S. I know it is a Hawaiian thing but I lost a lot of sleep to the roosters at 4:00 a.m. outside our windows. It's not fun or pleasant when you are exhausted all day from lack of sleep.
