Just the right balance of modern amenities stuck in an era of yesteryear when this was the place to be on the lake.

You can tell at one time this was a very nice place to stay. Unfortunately, it hasnt't been maintained and seems to be rundown. We stayed in Johnny's cabin. It was charming and definitely in better condition than other parts of the property. We really enjoyed the Jacuzzi tub and robes! It was clean and worked well for our basic stay, but if you're looking for anything fancy or modern, probably not the stay for you. The TV had basic very fuzzy channels. I had to relocate the coffee pot to the bathroom because the power kept tripping when I tried to use it in the kitchen. The inn itself could use a good face lift. Some paint and just overall tidying of the property could go a long way. The inn sign is falling apart. It's really sad to see a property with so much potential and past nostalgia, just fall apart. The spa was not open. It was interesting to walk around the inside of the inn and check out the surroundings at the suggestion of the very nice woman who checked us in. We decided to check things out one rainy afternoon, but unfortunately we seemed like an annoyance to the female employee working inside at that time. We left the building and didn't go back in our entire stay. The pool was refreshing and we did use it several times throughout our stay. I really hope the Inn can be restored to its former glory. It's one thing to preserve history, but not at the expense of basic upkeep and maintenance.

The bathroom shower was very small in the Standard King size bed room. No shelves in the shower to put toiletries on. The shower curtain had mildew on the bottom and in the shower on the ceiling.

Wonderful location. Surrounded by mountains with the Lake Lure beach across the street. Veranda restaurant in the hotel was excellent.

If I could give them 10 stars I would.

We had a great one night stay here. Took advantage of the pool and the staff was very helpful and friendly.

Perfect location! The rooms were clean, and the bed was very comfortable. We loved the historic charm of the inn. While it could use some updates throughout, we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay here again.

    Place was charming!

Older hotel 1927, but stay and view outside of the inn was pleasant.

I absolutely loved the fact that I had the mountains and the beach in the same trip!

Set your expectations for 1920’s luxury. This resort is not modern and does not have breakfast options, the tv is small, rooms are small and it is old. However if you want history and a fantastic location in a beautiful area this is it. The pool is fantastic, views from the porch are fantastic and staff is wonderful

we finally checked in a little after 4. The actual check in process was ok. Ate at the on site restaurant that night and the waitress was really nice. The food was ok. Nothing special. My son in law, grandson and I had a golf tee time the next morning at 0750. We had called the hotel prior to coming and ask about having coffee that early before we left. The lady there told us on the phone that there was a coffee truck parked outside and would have some. The next morning we stopped to get coffee and it was closed. Our wives walked down there a little later and it was still closed. People in the hotel were waiting in the lobby and complaining that they were told the same thing about the coffee truck and there was no coffe at the hotel lobby. Finally around a little past 8 AM, staff came in and brought out a container of coffe. Same the next morning.

We absolutely loved our stay at the Lake Lure Inn & Spa! The hotel's rich history was fascinating, and knowing that Hollywood legends have stayed here made exploring the property even more special. We also enjoyed strolling through all the charming shops in Chimney Rock. Finding out that the inn is so pet-friendly was the icing on the cake—we'll definitely be back!

Beautiful historic property. Lots of neat history, almost like you're staying in a museum. Beautiful town, lake, beach, and close to a lot of restaurants, hiking trails, the marina, and parks. It's not a modern facility, but it has that cute historic vibe that's perfect for a weekend away. The pool is amazing.

What an amazing weekend! The Inn was beautiful, the staff was amazing, as was the food! Megan in the pub makes the best mojito ever! Can’t wait to come back’

As always, the Lake Lure Inn was a delight. They used to have continental breakfast but weren’t offering during this stay. Always enjoyed the continental breakfast and it added value to the many stays there. We look forward to its return. In its absence we thoroughly enjoyed delicious breakfasts at a fairly new restaurant called The 828.
