Spearfish Canyon Lodge

Breakfast was very good: pancakes, French toast, orange juice and coffee. Our server was personable, helpful in our ordering. The ambience is lovely. Seating is available on the patio as well and the canyon views are topknotch!

Loved the outdoor hot tub. We had a beautiful view of the sunset. Will stay here again. But, will not eat at the restaurant across the street again. They do not clean/wash/wipe down their tables. Our table that they seated us at was dirty and we witnessed other tables not being wiped down. So gross.

A bathroom safety handler is in urgent need near the bath! There is nothing to hold on when getting out of the bath. My wife fell and had a big cut in her back, luckily no bone was broken

We never got to stay there because Expedia over booked and they had no rooms. Ended up.staying in a dump! Not happy with Expedia wrecking my vacation

Wonderful stay at Spearfish Canyon Lodge! Very clean, staff were super friendly and so much to do! The canyon is absolutely beautiful

It's a wonderful place to stay. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We loved being able to walk out the door and be on a hiking trail. It is a little remote but worth the drive.

The location was pristine and the lodge is beautiful. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The restaurant was just ok. My husband really enjoyed his elk bites but the Walleye was just ok.

A quiet lodge. Nice outdoor seating area. The restaurant across the street was busy but we got a seat at the bar. Delicious food.

The hotel is beautiful. The restaurant has amazing food. The place around is so calm, and perfect to rest after a hike.

They cancelled our room didn’t tell us. U til we went to check In. Overbooked and said Expedia cancelled

Beautiful location beautiful facilities great staff

This is a dated property in one of the most beautiful settings in the world. The motel needs a refresh. it could use insulation between the rooms, update the heating & cooling, the doors and update the water systems. The adjoining rooms shower and sink water flow sounds are unacceptable. I hope the owner decides to do an up grade versus selling the property for CONDO development. The lobby is beautiful !

That it was in the most beautiful country imaginable! Our room had a funny smell, that was very noticeable when you first walked in. Once in the room for a bit, you got used to it, and it wasn't bad.

Beds could be more comfortable. Room temp was hard to regulate.

There was no place to play cards with table and chairs.

Beautiful location with great hikes nearby. However I would not stay there again. Room was so noisy with bad plumbing and very dark. Bed was too soft.

We really did not take advantage of the amenities.

I liked the scenery and all the trails to hike in the black hills nearby. The main lodge was beautiful and all the staff was friendly and helpful. Booking.com overbooked them so we got put on the Creekside apartments would’ve of really preferred the lodge but wasn’t there fault but they did accommodate us. The lighting over by the apartment is not very good you need bring a flashlight or the light on your phone it is dark over there at night.
