We stayed at the Palmer House years ago and this visit was not as good. The hotel appears run down, the English muffins for breakfast were stale and there was a man hanging outside of his room two doors down from us shirtless and smoking. The staff was lovely and very nice.

Horrible place . Completely disgusting. Terrible stuff. Do not waste your money .

AC did not work. Temp in room was over 85. Front desk told us it was a whole resort problem which was not true after speaking to other guests. They could not fix the problem or give us another room. Toilet did not flush. My husband had to fix chain. Sink did not drain. We did not stay and got a refund.

I would definitely stay here again, but the property itself is a little run down. I'm sure that at one time the place was beautiful, but it appears that years of deferred maintenance could be taking its toll. The once beautiful marble walkways all around the place seem to be falling into disrepair, and the maroon canopies that cover several road-facing windows are now sun faded and sagging. While the walls, ceilings, and floors of our room seem to have been recently renovated , it looks like they just moved the same old nicked, scratched, and stained furniture back into the room. But the thing that was of most concern to me was that the Cable remote wasn't paired to the TV, making watching a World cup game very difficult that evening. The one saving grace was that, on a 90+ degree day, the pool was cool, clean, and used surprisingly little by the other guests. Also, the staff at the front desk were very polite and professional, both upon check-in and check-out .

Every was nice

Staff was helpful & friendly. Would definitely think twice before returning due to the fact that our suite was very outdated… the windows were dirty with imprints on them, something that could have been easily cleaned… bottom of mini-fridge was not wiped down from a previous guest… I don’t like leaving reviews like this but based on the fact that there are other similar reviews, I wonder if the owner cares or just can’t get housekeeping that know what they’re doing(?)

When we checked in and went to our assigned room, it had not been tended to by housekeeping. The bed was a mess, room was a mess and it smelled. We went to the desk to let them know this and they were apologetic and gave us their last room which had 2 queen beds when we booked a king. Upon entering this room, the same thing happened. We took a picture and went immediately back to the office. They were apologetic but did not have any rooms available so we had to find a new place. They are supposed to refund our money but we are still waiting….

Great location but the room (and bath) was very tired. Staff was super friendly. The weather wasn't great so we didn't use the pool or other amenities. Affordable and quiet though.

Room itself was fine. Bathroom really outdated. Couldn’t get WiFi in the room. Front desk couldn’t assist

The dock was broken down and unsafe with a sunken row boat with beer cans in it!!! how the hell they charge a resort fee is insulting!!!!! the fake golf coarse and broken masonry is mind boggling!

Don’t think I would return unfortunately.

Location: closeness to town is the ONLY thing that Palmer House has in its favor. There was a clean bed, clean towels, and ample hot water. Totally tapped out accommodations. Shouldn't rank above 3.5 on any scale. Rooms severely dated, upholstered furniture too scary to think of sitting on, windows could not be locked shut, dirty floors and mirrors, dirty mini-frig in freezer section, indoor pool surface flaking off and no way you would go in, hot tub was hot but water quality questionable, gym equipment was a safety hazard. I honestly slept lightly because I didn't feel safe. Once our expectations were lowered, Continental breakfast was ok: coffee-machine coffee, over-easy eggs and sausage patties edible. But, sorry to say this once grand place now needs a lot of TLC. Shame on us for not reading all the reviews.

I did not like the fact to have to drive to the pool because it was raining. The gym very outdated. No water in the outside hot tub. Breakfast did not look good so we skipped it. The pond dock was falling apart, the boat was half sunk with cans littered in it. The pond itself needs upkeep. Ice machine was broke and the bar wasn't open. No microwave in the room. The rooms are nice just to many cons.

Stayed in unit 72, one of the big ones on the pond. Beautiful location, lots of space and room for the kids to play. Tennis Court, nightly fire pit was a great place to hang out. Indoor pool and fitness area need lots of work. I reported the coffee maker broken and Air Conditioning out on day one of a 4 day stay and nothing was done.

Overall it was a reasonable stay.

Would have liked to use the hot tub but it was inconvenient to our room
-
The floor between the bathroom and the bedroom had huge holes in it, which was dangerous; the bathtub still had soap residue, making it slippery; and the king-sized bed was so worn out that my entire side sagged toward the floor. Let’s just say that for $260 USD, I was really unimpressed—not to mention the stains on the wall and curtains, the details of which I’ll spare you. Room 15

Staff were very nice and room was clean, however the images on the site are a little deceiving and not the “Resort” we thought we were staying. Basically it’s an older motel with somewhat updated rooms with very thin walls.
-
Good welcome, spacious room, plenty on site facilities such as pool, tennis etc' if you wanted them, lovely grounds and surroundings. continental breakfast was poor. Limited choice and no fresh fruit. Poor quality food and not very communicative receptionist.

We stayed with my kids for one night, Property it’s very nice, a lot of activities. Breakfast is good. They give us house with 2 bedrooms it’s very old, need upgrades. Bed sheets are clean. But I don’t like the bathroom, shower is not clean, holes in the wall.
