The staff were extremely nice and accomodating. The facilities were beautiful with lots of nooks and places to relax. The food and complementary breakfast was delicious. The rooftop area is incredible. We absolutely loved this place and didn't want to leave

Quiet in the oldest section of the Medina. It felt quite local. The property is huge with many many thoughtfully layed out spaces for relaxing, reading, painting, wine & food. The food was great. Service was lovely & excellent. The staff could not have been better. So friendly and kind. Smiles every where. Chess games, books galore. I’d live there if I wanted to live in Marrakesh. Great place away from the bustle but plenty close to everything you might want to see. You could get classic Moroccan food for a decent price or just a plain tuna sandwich. Everything was done with care. Our room was spacious and interesting in every way. Loved all the levels, pool & plants and birds. Just everything was wonderful. Nothing.

What a gem - this Riad is a maze filled with treasures! We loved exploring and were sad we only had a short stay. Plus the staff were exceptionally kind and helpful. Do yourself a favour and stay here! The coffee was a bit watery

The property is very charming and beautifully designed and furnished. Lots of different rooms all furnished very stylishly. Many terraces to discover. Proper haven after the mayhem outside! The pool is big which is a bonus on a hot afternoon. Our room was huge- it slept 5 and had 2 bathrooms and a little courtyard. Walk to the Center of the medina was long but on a flipside it was easy to get a taxi as it is very close to the outside of the medina.

The design and aesthetic of the hotel and rooms was superb. Every corner of every area straight off the page a design magazine. The staff were all excellent, anticipating our requirements. The rooftop was an oasis of calm in a crazy part of town Beautiful big family room for 5 of us The same breakfast after a couple of days felt repetitive, even though it was good quality. The crazy mopeds bombing down the crowded streets on the narrow market streets into town.

Authentic & Beautiful, but with a Few Drawbacks Our stay at Dar Chibania Riad was a unique experience. The Riad itself is stunning – incredibly spacious, beautifully decorated, and full of intricate details that make it feel like a hidden gem. However, our room had a noticeable musty smell, which was unfortunate, though it was still very tastefully furnished. One thing to keep in mind is that the location is a bit off the beaten path. It’s about a 30-minute walk to the main square, which we actually enjoyed, as it allowed us to experience a quieter side of Marrakech. However, on the way back, we did get lost—even though I usually have a great sense of direction! Because of this, I’d say this Riad is best suited for travelers who have already been to Marrakech before. For first-time visitors, navigating the area might feel a bit overwhelming. The staff was absolutely lovely—attentive, warm, and always eager to help. The French owners were also very kind and even helped us carry our luggage to the taxi—but only because we had booked directly through the Riad. Otherwise, we would have had to carry everything ourselves for about five minutes, which could have been tricky with lots of bags. We also had dinner at the Riad, and it was delicious—a wonderful home-cooked meal. However, the temperature inside was quite chilly. The heating in the rooms was only partially functional, and we often had to wear jackets both indoors and outdoors during breakfast and dinner. The fireplace didn’t provide much warmth, and while they did have heating lamps, they were unfortunately not turned on. Overall, Dar Chibania is a beautiful and peaceful retreat with wonderful hospitality, but it might not be the best choice for first-time visitors to Marrakech or for those traveling in the colder months. That said, we truly appreciated the atmosphere and kindness of the staff, and for experienced travelers who enjoy a quieter setting, it could be a great fit!

    Authentic Rhiad Nothing

  • Engine customer Feb 2025

The most beautiful Riad in a quiet area away from the centre of the Medina. The staff were exceptional, the cleaners even quickly did our room each morning whilst we were at breakfast. There are so many areas to relax and our favourite spot was on the rooftop to sunbathe. Highly recommend to have dinner here for one night as well as the food was amazing. The riad is in a residential area so bring earplugs if you're a light sleeper as there are a few cockerels close by, but this just added to the atmosphere for us. Absolutely wonderful accommodation.

Beautiful oasis which is relaxing and calm

The Riad was a truly lovely authentic calm space, away from the hustle and bustle of the main square. Exceptional staff who were always on hand to assist with anything you may need. Especially Yousif. We loved all of the hidden spaces offering numerous quiet places to while away your time reading a book or the lovely roof terrace to get some sun. It was also nice to have friendly fellow guests which made it feel very homely. Our room was also very comfortable we had a lovely bed and space with dressing table and a very spacious bathroom. All beautifully cleaned daily. We would defiantly return without hesitation and recommend it to friends. If you don’t want to stay in a fancy hotel and want an authentic experience then you can’t go wrong here. Can’t really say we disliked anything in all honesty. I was a bit apprehensive about being a long walk from town as I was traveling with my daughter (who is in her 20’s) Although it is about a 20/25 min walk to the square we felt safe walking around at night. We did have a guide on the first day however which was organised by the hotel and this made navigating so much easier. I would recommend booking restaurants ahead of time especially if you want ones who serve alcohol. These are more expensive and get booked in advance, but Yousif helped with recommendations and bookings.

The Riad is exceptional - very spacious with three courtyards and plenty of rooftop space. It's a decent walk to the main area through a poor area but it felt safe. Some might prefer to be closer. We travelled in February when the mornings were cold. The breakfast in the main courtyard was a little chilly at that time so warm clothing was required but the sense of space and openness compensated. There were plenty of options to eat inside. We got to swim one afternoon. The pool, while in the shade at this time of year, was heated and the sun caught the surrounds, it was glorious. Sunloungers elsewhere at different levels were bathed in sunshine. The Fatiwa room we stayed in was gorgeous, with a little patio and steps to the rooftop. Everything was so stylish and decorated to prefection. The staff were all lovely and so helpful. We loved our time in Dar Chibania. The breakfasts were a bit on the sweet side for me - pancakes, pastries and cake with jams and honey. Some savoury elements would have been nice. The coffee went cold quickly but a fresh brew was made whenever requested.
