Holiday Inn Express & Suites Maryville by IHG

This hotel seemed to have a lot of problems. To start, the swimming pool has been broken for over a year, yet they still advertise as having one. The breakfast was below average, not too hot and tasted a little off. Staff was friendly, room and common areas were clean.

Front desk check in was fine. After spending hours in the car with a sleepy toddler, I appreciated that he had things ready to go. Hallways and stairwells are not very well lit. The elevators were down (assuming due to the current construction happening), so we trekked up 3 flights of stairs to our room. Our room was fine aside from the light between beds not working and there being no overhead light in the center of the room. It was late, and the entry light was sufficient for getting ready for bed. TV had a good selection of channels to choose from. The breakfast selection was nice and I appreciated the paper bags provided, making it easy to grab a couple things and get back on the road.

We also had some bugs in our room, I know you can’t control a few bugs but may need to spray for bugs so that isn’t the first thing to welcome your guests. Also this time we stayed the vending machines were removed but signs for vending machines are still up. If they were removed so more people would purchase stuff from the little store by the front desk, then offer more of a variety of snacks.

Staff was very friendly Wasn’t super clean and seemed run down. We spent the extra money on the hotel for the pool and weren’t able to use it.

The room was clean and the bed comfortable, breakfast was great the lady attendant at breakfast was a joy to be around and very helpful

We arrived in the middle of the night and were too tired to complain but the room was not clean. The floor was so sticky that our shoes made really loud noises as we walked in. Bathroom tiles were cracked and dirty. Would not stay there again.

Traveled for a wedding and the staff was amazing. So helpful, kind, and caring. The bed was super firm which I didn't like so much. The room was very clean but the faucet was coming off the tub wall. The pool is being renovated which is good and bad. Good that they're working on making it better but bad because it didn't say that when I was booking and wanted to swim with my kids to wear them out before bed. The lady who ran breakfast was incredible nice, a tad overbearing when I told her she didn't need to watch my son while I made a plate. He was strapped in the high chair but she insisted (like im just supposed to trust her because she works there?) and i didnt love that. Overall very nice quick place to stay in a small town.

Nice check in. Nice staff. Close to where we needed. The fact we only booked here for the pool/hot tub as advertised and it has been down since last May. Very disappointing. We could have paid a better rate elsewhere

This hotel has been run down considerably in the past 4 yrs I’ve been traveling to the area. I’ve stayed here multiple times and it keep getting worse. This time the office chair was literally broken and threw me into the floor. When I went to call the front desk, the phone wasn’t working so I had to go down there. Their solution was to simply take a chair from the room next door. Lots of sketchy ppl staying there as well.

The pool wasn’t open and doesn’t look like it will be ever !!! I paid $200 for one night and Motel 6 would have been a better choice . The weight room is falling apart . The wallpaper is falling off the walls . Bad choice and not worth $200

There was no blackout shade on the window so it was pretty bright in our room at night. I did not even feel comfortable enough to get dressed in the room so I had to wait for the bathroom.

Staff was very friendly! The room was comfortable. The sheets and towels did have some stains, but overall a nice stay.

The front desk gentleman and the lady in charge of the breakfast area were really kind. You need to invest in slow closing doors that do not slam. We were awoken multiple times by door slamming. Even the exit door on our floor slams. Our room was right by the exit door. In addition to that, there was a group of student athletes there and they were very, very loud and constantly going in and out of rooms and slamming doors.
