Motel 6 McDonough, GA

Motel 6 is Motel 6. As far as this one goes though, it was cleaner and cozier than I’d anticipated so basics of staying here was largely acceptable. No roaches. Smoking is kept in check pretty well so the rooms stay smelling neutral. I’m not a light sleeper but, for those who are, and are unfamiliar with the area: there is a decently busy train track right across the street which crosses an intersection. It has to blow a horn when passing. Even at 3 am. Weird staff. My daughters and I traveled from the west coast to spend a few months visiting and helping family that’s very sick. I’m an early riser as is, even more so since my clock is still on pacific time. At 4-5am daughters are still sleeping so, instead of turning on lights, I’d go work in the car. Daughters are also chatty which messes with concentration so I’d work out there throughout the day. Should be nbd, right? Well, one morning, staff knocks on my window to ask what I’m doing here. I respond “I’m [guest name] in [room number]” and show him my key. His response was “no, I mean what are you doing *here* here”, so I state that I’m here because I’m awake and working. The next day a second staff member stops us as I’m heading to the sick family member. I’m now to go through mandatory room inspections! Who doesn’t travel with bags, I don’t know, but bags are not to be on the floor, they’re to be on the desk! We’re not allowed to only have minimal service (towel changes) full service only! Fair or not fair, no cooking anything (induction plate, intended for a pot of meal to eat through the week instead of going to crowded restaurants due to sick family’s immunocompromised state). Ok fine, got me there, but he does go on and on, on a bunch of nit-picky stuff in a clean room and against some of the chillest low-maintenance guests in the building (cops were there at least 2x for other people). Anyway… all of this hufffpuff…the supposedly mandatory room inspections never materialized after this interaction. I’m left with the distinct impression that me not answering Mr. Nosey’s question in satisfactory detail got me targeted by Mr. Bossy for harassment. It’s a very sucky time for everyone in my circle right now. My hotel stay should be the least concerns and definitely shouldn’t be adding to the stress. Being treated, as a guest, like a trespasser or like something to be micro-managed is very, very f’n weird. Staff turned this stay from 4/5 stars to 2.

Decent location, we were able to get right back to our trip the next day Cleanliness was not the best, the bed was very uncomfortable (very hard) and it made a lot of sound every time you moved. I have stayed at way better hotels for the same price

Cost effective hotel. Room was dirty. Fecal matter was high on the wall above clothes hanger area. Hotel adjacent to busy 24 hour gas station, truck noise and engine noise made sleep very difficult as well as train horn four times during the night.

The staff was rude when checking in. I asked for a nonsmoking room and was given a smoking room. The sheets had blood on them. I asked for new sheets which they gave me but they still had old stains on them. Will not return to this location again

The property was roach infested and real nasty not clean at all. It’s poor Service.. didn’t like nothing about the property:( It was very unsanitized trash everywhere roach invested. I will never stay here. I have asked for a refund.

Floor was very dirty. A dead bug was stuck to the floor. Walls had many stains.

This hotel is absolutely disgusting I would not recommend staying here for more than one night. If you just need a place to sleep and move on. That's what this waste is. It's roach, infested, it's dirty. You can tell it has been worn just an overall disgusting property. I'd rather sleep in my car than sleep in here. Sheets were stained, the tub was stained. I did not feel comfortable, will lean anything down. The pictures are a lie. It does not look like the pictures.
