Holiday Inn Express Harrisburg SW - Mechanicsburg by IHG

It was a decent stay. The room was more modern. I especially liked the USB outlets beside the bed. The room was clean except for the fingernails/toenails I found on the floor near the desk. YUCK. The staff at check in was absolutely phenomenal. They were very nice and accommodating!

Good

It was good.

Sheets smelled musty - dead bugs in bathroom- no trash can Kleenex or hairdryer

Great value and could not have been a more perfect location! We had a suite with a living room second fridge and meal prep area and really needed that for this trip. Breakfast was ample. We will definitely stay here again when we come back to visit our PA family.

The breakfast was great and the location was very accessible I was quite satisfied with the services received.

Disappointing

The bathroom walls were not clean in the shower area. One of the pillowcases had blood on it. Otherwise it was a nice room and clean.

As of August 2026, this hotel is currently under renovation. They also had a pipe burst on the first floor, so that is all roped off. Because of this, a lot of the lobby and breakfast area are not that nice. Breakfast area is very cramped. The parking lot is very sketchy with big dumpsters taking up a lot of the spaces. The room wasn't great - terrible bright florescent lighting, tub fixtures/walls were not nice, tub didn't drain so we were standing in several inches of water by the end of our showers.

Bad

Told there was an airport shuttle. There was not

Passable

Very nice place a lot of construction going on but it will look better and nicer

The room was clean, breakfast was good. Plenty of parking the stores and restaurants were nearby too.

This is a real dump! It shouldn’t even be open. We will never stay at a Holiday Inn Express again!

No

The first person I dealt with at the front desk was so incompetent but the other staff were very friendly and helpful. I was expecting a continental breakfast but because of the renovations there was only coffee and tea. Only one floor had an ice machine and the two out of the three times I went to get ice at this machine there wasn't any. I was impressed with the comfortable bed and the choice of hard or soft pillows. The rooms were clean and I got clean towels for all three nights that I stayed there.

Good location for where I was staying Whole hotel was humid. Everything was damp even with the ac set on 62. Made the booking on Booking.com months ago. It was supposed to be $530 total for 3 night. I get there at the hotel and the guy says $705. Refused to do anything about it. This is 2 years in a row I’ve had problems at this hotel. Last year there was absolutely no hot water.

Not their fault, but they were going through some serious renovations. Staff did their best and was accommodating. Billing was messed up card wise which I explained very clearly. Will stay there again though.

The room was very nice. Clean and spacious. Breakfast bar ran out of food. It took awhile to refill.
