Mill Falls Resort Collection at the Lake

Incredible - we were upgraded to a suite with beautiful lake view, absolutely stunning! The property was beautiful, the spa was overlooking the lake. The sun rise view in the morning was absolutely amazing! Nothing! I loved everything.

The staff was great, especially Cheyenne at the check-in desk, as well as the dining room staff. We loved that we. Could go from building to building on the boardwalk, with gorgeous views versus the sidewalk with traffic. The whole place was delightful!

Grounds are beautiful. Gardens all kept well and similar feel. Great restaurant -- Town Docks. Looks deceiving but the food is quality! Enjoyed walking between the areas of the property and sitting various locations to enjoy the view of the lake. The cleanliness of the room was not great. A few dead flies and no one came to clean the third night. Not up to the same standards as the rest of the property.

Mill Falls is a collection of different buildings and I found them to be poorly labeled. I didn't know which entrance was the front, or for unloading, or whatever. The lady at check-in was very snooty and only gave me a map to help me navigate. There was very little parking and I had to drag my suitcase up some back steps to the entry. There was NO ONE in the building for me to ask questions. The Palmer Inn exterior door staircase only went to floor 1, 2 and 4. I was on floor 3. So I had to walk down an interior hallway and up a HALF flight of steps to get to floor 3. The bathroom smelled like urine. Possibly because the bathroom floor was hardwood - ridiculous! The way they made up the bed only let the blanket come up to my chest, so I had to completely undo the bed so it would come up over my shoulders. There's no coffee maker or microwave in the room, and the on-site cafe is closed on Mondays, so I had to go elsewhere for breakfast. You pay all this money, and then you don't have the conveniences you get at any run of the mill hotel.

The property was stunning and the suite we had was spectacular. Beautifully appointed and gorgeous views of the lake. Plus a private porch with rocking chairs. It was all perfect Because of a laundry issue, we couldn’t get into our room until 45 mins after check in. The front desk staff was swamped and frustrated. One employee took initiative and inspected our room himself to move things along. The TV and two lights in the room and on the porch never worked. We were compensated at checkout. There needs to be an outdoor foot shower at least so going from lake to pool is easier and cleaner. It took several calls over two days to get our room service dishes removed from the hallway. They seemed a bit short staffed. Front desk employees could have been much friendlier.

Location Seems a bit rundown. Had an issue with my air conditioner at 1 AM where the mini split unit was spitting ice after waking us up with a loud rattle. Pool in our building was closed so we drove to a different facility to use theirs. No towels at the pool on arrival. Just in general didn’t think that the facility was very well maintained or updated.

Location was great and the grounds were amazing. For a luxury price the rooms were old and not updated, a/c was not working, the mattress was lumpy and uncomfortable, bad smell through the plumbing and the balcony was dirty and covered in spider webs. The staff at the front desk seemed to have no empathy toward our issues.
