Cobblestone Inn & Suites - Newton

I went to the room phone to call down to the front desk, but the handset was unplugged from the receiver. Plugged that back in but still no dial tone, so I checked the cord from the wall and noticed that had been cut. Had to get redressed and head back down to the lobby to inform the front desk staff. The younger gentleman that checked us in said he would come take a look (at nearly 11pm at night). Back upstairs to have him take a look, which he noted and couldn’t fix. He said he would mention this to the manager in the morning to have him remedy the situation. No offer for us to change rooms, even when we checked in 10 mins prior. Morning arrives and discuss this all again with the manager, where it was stated that since I paid through Hotels.com there was nothing he could do. No discount, no price off the room, just that if we were coming back to that hotel in the near future, I would receive a “special rate”. Not sure we will ever stay at this hotel again, or need to stay here, so sunk cost and a hard lesson.

The furniture in the room was in terrible condition. Honestly, it wouldn’t be accepted at a second hand store. The air condition was the loudest one I have ever heard. It is obvious the owners have no pride in this facility. Wouldn’t try the breakfast, not sure what the areas I can’t see might look like.

First impressions set the stage for a hotel. The staff was very pleasant and the hotel was clean, but the condition of furniture in our room created an uncomfortable experience.

Room was clean and a little dated. Sofa needs replacing. Amenities were good.

Bed and pillows are very clean and comfortable. Bathroom is spotless and the facilities look quite new. The mini-fridge and microwave in the room really come in handy. The only negative is the sofas-they are pretty worn out and peeling. But overall, this hotel is still a great choice.

Quiet, clean, neat Lobby not particularly warm and inviting, decor-wise. Not a dealbreaker by any means, it was very clean.

It is a nice property, but the room we had (207) had a small piece of poop hanging under the toilet seat and yellow stains around the water line.

Place was clean, spacious and met all our needs! Check in girl was monotone:)

Easy to find. Gas station in same parking lot. Room spacious as well as bathroom. All clean. Variety of breakfast options. We will stay there again.

The first room we had smelled like dog , we went a requested a different room, we were given another room much better, but that room the walls were so dusty we could have wrote in the dust.

The room was clean and had a huge window overlooking the Iowa countryside. Which was nice and felt relaxing after driving all day. Definitely would stay there again.

Convienient location. Room furniture needs upgraded but good enough for price
