Good, clean, good breakfast

We were really disappointed that we had to pay $13 for parking. We were not aware of this additional charge.

The staff was polite and courteous.

Staff were super helpful and accommodating, especially given the circumstances. The hotel didn't have the ability to make key cards for any guests (the system was down?), so we were being directed to create Bonvoy accounts and use digital keycards via an app. But, of course, the app wasn't working with the doors, either, so nobody was able to access their own rooms. We all had to either keep our doors propped open or be let into our own rooms by a staff member every time we left. And there was no manager on site all afternoon or evening, so of course the staff weren't equipped to solve this problem. At least the beds were comfortable, but essentially we just couldn't leave our room all night.

Great location. Front desk staff were lovely. So friendly and personable. Room was a bit small but for 1 night, it was just what we needed.

This hotel has seen better days. There is obvious damage in the rooms like cracks in the walls and shower area. The rooms need to be redesigned, the furniture in them is not efficient fpr the space so it feels very cramped. The A/C system needs an overhaul as does the breakfast options. Having only low-fat everything isnt good. The pool is tiny and unheated so its an ice box. The location is nice if you need to be in downtown Norfolk.

We stayed one night at SpringHill Suites Norfolk ODU while visiting Old Dominion University, and overall, it was a good experience. There were a couple of minor maintenance issues. Our first room had a broken door lock, so the door was wide open when we arrived. We reported it to the front desk, and they promptly reassigned us to another room. In the second room, the toilet flush handle was loose, so you had to hold it and push it slowly for it to flush properly. Aside from those issues, the room was clean, comfortable, and met our needs for a short stay. The location was excellent—just minutes from ODU, which was the reason for our visit. There were plenty of restaurants nearby, plus an on-site restaurant, making meals convenient. Self-parking was easy and located directly across the street for $13 per day. Overall, despite the minor maintenance concerns, we had a pleasant stay. The staff responded appropriately, the location was great, and I would definitely stay here again.

The fitness room was very very limited

Hotel service was great. The hotel is a little dated but the STAFF was on point. The breakfast was plenty and hearty, breakfast staff made sure everything was stocked well. The room was OKAY, nothing special

There were issues getting into our room upon arrival, even after staff replaced the key cards 3 times, and ultimately they gave us a different room. Beds and room were generally fine, breakfast food was as expected, staff were nice. But no hot water for showers for two days.

Staff great the manager a horrible person

The breakfast definitely seemed underrated for a Marriott. Unlimited selection all just heated up things or frozen things. Very mid.

Room is clean and breakfast is great but time is too strict…

Nice

The hotel is literally across the street from the Chartway Arena where we went to see Teddy Swims. The hotel is clean, comfortable and has a nice restaurant attached. We would stay there again for a concert!

We arrived a lil after 3 for check in room was not ready, ok no problem. Once we were able to check in the room was very musty . The sheets was used sheets for the pull out bed. The restaurant area smelled old like. My mom enjoyed the breakfast. Staff was polite and welcoming. Just need to do better with the smells in the hotel. Nice area for the hotel

Our room looked like it had been straightened, but not cleaned. The sheets and towels were fresh, but there was visible urine on the bathroom floor, the toilet seat, and the underside of the lid. There was also debris in the bathtub.
