Crowne Plaza Suites Pittsburgh South by IHG

Hit or miss with the elevators. One was inoperable for our entire stay the other one was out for the day on Saturday so stairs only. Mold growing on the walls in the shower. During our four day stay our room was never cleaned. Had to go downstairs for towels and toilet paper.

We were in town for a reunion in Bethel Park and this is the only hotel in town. The staff is excellent and responded to our needs and concerns. The hotel is in need of a renovation. It is worn and tired. The pillows are like pancakes and the beds are not comfortable. Our lamp on the nightstand was missing a switch to turn on and off and the metal shower caddy that holds toiletries had fallen off the shower wall and was sitting on the tiny bathroom counter. The rooms are spacious but the bathroom was tiny. Joe in maintenance was excellent and fixed all our issues promptly and cheerfully. We had asked housekeeping in the morning to please take care of our room ( empty trash, make bed, fresh towels) When we returned in the evening it had not been done. Crystal the manager made it right by apologizing for all of the above and giving us a monetary room discount. The included breakfast was acceptable and Gordon & Fernando were on top of everything while being friendly and cheerful. When we were ready to check out after our three day stay, instead of a price discount adjustment, we were charged extra. Yuliya & Umang at front desk handled it professionally & quickly since there was a long line at 11 to check out. We have stayed here 4 times over the years and wish they would give the hotel a well deserved refresh.

The rooms smell bad

Room was very clean! Bed was very comfortable! Shower could use more pressure! Didn't try breakfast due to the fact it was 16.95 per person!! As much as we paid for our room one would think a complimentary breakfast would be offered!!! All in all stay was good!

I didn’t have the breakfast because it was $16.95, the free coffee wasn’t very good. Apparently there are certain floor deemed pet friendly but I didn’t travel with a pet of any sort. The room smelled awful of dog urine. That was the worst part of it. The staff was friend, had fabulous recommendations. The room lacked a microwave but there was one in the lobby for use. They offered to change my smelly room but I was there for only an additional evening so I didn’t bother.

The housekeeping is not too conscious which room has tag for cleaning. Yhe housekeeping missed cleaning our room.

Checkin was so easy and the staff were extremely personable. Room was clean although the body wash was empty. This was corrected immediately.

Maid service was spotty and there is no safe.

for part of the hotel, 9th floor. I was not aware of the cleaning service can only clean the rooms Fridays and Tuesday. they should make guests aware of this.

People were pleasant and tom was clean. Will stay there again….

Room was clean and bed was very comfortable. Super quiet. The breakfast was wonderful. Excellent location for me to stay while visiting my Mom’s nursing home.

For the most part it was just fine. We found a fingernail/toenail in the bed(not ours). And our coffee in our room was never replenished.
