property lovely facility a bit mundane restaurant food choices and quality - very basic and mediocre

Fabulous resort, will return. The only downside was that there was a couple of strains of hair in the tub, and the grout was dark, so a remodel of the bath was needed to keep up with the fabulous room and property. Would give it a 4.75 out of 5. We went with our dog and everyone couldn't have been nicer. I would recommend this resort to all.

Very nicely designed simple resort in WV. Trails, golf, walking, great buffet breakfast.

Very quiet and peaceful. Very friendly staff.

Logistically one of the poorest setups designs I've ever seen. Longest walk I've ever had to get to my room from my car. They have an entire straightaway from the lobby to the luggage unloading area consisting of just deck chairs. Makes no sense, keep the deck chairs in back by the lake. No one is interested in watching guests enter and leave the resort while your trying to read your book or what not. Not to mention unnecessarily adding and extra 100 years to get from the parking lot to the lobby. Count me as disappointed 😞😞.

The scenery was priceless

Room was clean. Disappointed that the mattresses had no mattress protectors or fitted sheets. It was a flat sheet folded under. Beds were very uncomfortable. Staff was so so.

This was one of our favorite places we've ever stayed. Opening up our curtains to the lake in the morning was magical. Breakfast was delicious and perfect, the pool was relaxing and the fire pit area was so chill. Very clean resort, and very comfortable beds.

Great resort with a lot to do. Will plan to come back soon.

Helpful, friendly staff. Very nice boat tour around the lake. The connected indoor-outdoor swimming pool was nice, and plenty of lounge space around the pool.

This place is awesome. So clean. Lots of things to do for young families. The pool is awesome and so is the lake!

Not our first stay here, and won't be our last. We love the resort, it's very cozy. That said, they seem to run out of hot water at an alarming rate and with two young kids trying to get them cleaned up in an ice cold tub is kind of upsetting. They seem overall short-staffed but we still really enjoy this resort.

As usual we love everything about Stonewall. The food, the staff, the rooms, everything. The only thing we did not like was not controlled by the facility. The weather was very soggy. It rained the entire time we were there.

This place is overpriced. Know that there are 2 restaurants and 1 bar on the property for all the visitors staying there. All the restaurants are overpriced for the quality. The good: Views are nice. Pool is nice. Patio is nice. Stillwater’s Restaurant breakfast buffet was good. Lightburn’s views and service was good. The not-so-good: No hot water in the mornings….front desk seemed to acknowledge the problem but didn’t seem to care. Muskie’s Bar took over 2 hours…service was slow/poor and food not great. Lightburn’s food is not great for the price. Lobby not clean. The rooms are basic and a little dated. Do your homework before you go…especially if you have kids. Set your expectations a little lower, this is a state park resort. Advertisements paint this place as much nicer than it really is. If it was more in line price-wise with $150/night and the dining options were better, I would have enjoyed the stay. Disappointed and will not be returning.
