Holiday Inn & Suites Chicago North Shore (Skokie) by IHG

The indoor pool was nice. The hot tub was full of dirty green water. The lobby and dining area was clean and pretty. Our bathroom shower was not very clean and had no drain. Free parking was not that great because 1/3 of the spots were for diamond or preferred members and the back parking lot was not the best. Average place to stay.

Don't stay here under any circumstance

Stay away from this hotel. No hot water for two days. The hotel is not well maintained and quite dirty

It’s so clean and quiet

They use a lot of chlorine to clean with and the smell stays in the rooms after they clean. I usually don't mind the smell but this was overly strong.

They had a water issue leak they were dealing with

Check in was good. Rooms are dated, but relatively clean. The carpet in the main areas of the hotel and in the room, could use some serious shampoo sessions. The bathtub and shower had lots of rust. The tv never had good reception. I used my iPad the entire stay. I never received housekeeping or a room refresh. My stay was 4 nights. I did have my room on DND some of the time, but there were plenty of other opportunities for housekeeping. I mentioned that I needed housekeeping to one of the staff who said he would let the staff know. No one ever showed up. I don't think I should have to call and request this service. Good customer service includes proactive follow up with guests.

Clean and quiet otherwise. Could do better in the area for just a little more money and I will choose to do so next time.

This is a very large, very old hotel. The rooms are as clean as they can be given the age of the furnishings. It’s just gotten a little dingy. The TV in my room also did not work, but it was too late to deal with.

staff was very helpful getting me a room that worked best for me

Breakfast was mediocre. Towels are hard to get. It was very hot in the hallways and building. A lot of the staff wasn't very friendly. Hot tub was pretty much pure bleach.

Just issues flushing toilet, otherwise high quality place to stay !
