Candlewood Suites Airport by IHG

This hotel is very clean and very close to the South Bend Airport. The staff was great. The Desk Clerk even came up to help us get our TV remote to sync to the TV. It had a full size fridge with a freezer and ice maker. Also it was stocked with plates, silverware and drink ware. There was a dishwasher and stovetop too. Bed was very comfortable and the shower had great pressure and drainage. It was a great value and we’d stay again for sure!!

I did not feel comfortable at the property at all. It should be listed as an extended stay hotel. I was traveling with kids and did not feel safe at all. The pool was closed, the property smelled, it was a very transient population staying htere.

Adequate room. Extended stay type of place so not many amenities. It is good for what we expected.

The staff was very professional and welcoming. Our room was impeccably clean.

The doors had dirty hand prints down them and the baseboards were dirty. Tells me that cleanliness is not a priority. It was loud and someone tried to get into my room several times which woke me up.

Do not stay here. Rooms/ hallways reek of cigarettes . 3/4 of the individuals staying there seem to be “long-term” which you can tell. Staff sleeping at front desk (literally). Absolutely terrible . Couldn’t wait to get home and shower

Absolutely terrible. 3/4 seems to be “long-term” stays which you can tell . Got to my floor and whole entire floor reeked of cigarette smoke. Walked into my room and the same . Asked if this was non smoking and individual responded “supposed to be”. I said well maybe it’s the people that are sitting out front all smoking, flowing through the AC/ half the windows are open too and was told that doesn’t happen (saw it frequently ) . If I wasn’t there for a 36 hour trip I would’ve booked something else and got out of there . Went to go check out and the girl at the front desk was sleeping in the chair at 6am. Probably the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at
