a very old building with tons of history and character. The room was very clean and comfortable and the staff was excellent...very friendly and accommodating.

Historic Inn with lots of nostalgia, character, esteemed guest list and many museum-worthy artifacts and memorabilia items! Rooms are quaint, and though expected to be somewhat rustic, are a bit run down - stained carpeting, leaky tub, lukewarm shower in the evening, etc. Great mattress on the bed, and nice clean linens, robe, etc! Great location! Friendly staff!

This is a historic and very dated hotel. Be aware there are numerous buildings and you may not be in a room in the main building. Although the setting of our room was quiet and pleasant, the condition of the building is in need of updating, and frequent outdoor cleaning and sweeping for spider webs. The beds are comfortable and very clean. The internet was not working the entire stay, no one answered at the front desk or returned our call, but in person, everyone is very helpful. Food in the Tavern was good, the pot pie is a very small serving!I No extra amenities, no in room refrigerator, no ice and the ice maker in the main area was not working. Very easy access to backroad to Tanglewood! If you are looking for historic, this is the place.

The location is great and the charm of the old inn is also great Our TV was not working. They tried to help but were not able to

This is an old inn. It’s elegant, fun and very comfortable. Lots of dark, antique furniture and communal card games. The staff is friendly and some have been there many years. Many of the guests return year after year. If that’s what you’re looking for, you will love it. I do. If you are looking for sleek and spotless, you are best suited elsewhere.

The staff were superb. I can wholly appreciate the history of the building and all the historical information provided throughout the in. The location and porch were ideal for our morning coffee. Gift shops were exquisite. Again, I wholly appreciate the beautiful building, antiques and history the Inn provides. However, the fabric on the two chaise lounges in our room was WELL beyond its years and was the first thing we noticed upon entering. Also, staircases and carpets looked in need of a good vacuum and mop.

We liked the porch, the history behind the inn and the ambiance Shower curtain didn't close completely and water sprayed all over the toilet

The room was huge. The beds were comfortable and the AC worked great. The bathroom was gorgeous, fully remodeled with top notch finishings. We had dinner and breakfast there and both meals were great. The chairs in our room were kind of shabby as was the carpeting in the hallways in our building. I think layout of the buildings is a bit confusing and a porter might be a good idea for older people as our building had no elevator.

Quaint New England Inn. Felt like I was stepping back in time. Delightful.

The room was off the main property in a converted house (Stevens House) on Pine Street. Both entrances to the site lacked ramps for luggage. The rear entrance from the parking lot in particular was 4-5 stairs. There was no mini-refrigerator in the room. The property had a kitchen open to all residents of the house (approx 6-7 rooms) but the small 2-draw refrigerator did not have proper temperature. The ice maker in the kitchen was broken. The coffee maker was difficult, at best, to operate. Noises from the stair way to the second floor and in the 2nd floor bathroom and rooms infiltrated the first floor.

Excellent historic inn. We stay here every summer after a a concert at Tanglewood. Love it here.

Enjoyed my omelet and English muffin breakfast. There was nothing I didn't like. I liked the historic feel of the Inn, its character and appreciate its centuries of history and illustrious guests..

Property is aging and needs attention. Still a nice place to stay.

The inn is very run down. I haven’t been there in several years and as soon as I came in I was disappointed. Sat by pool waiting for room, peeling paint all over exterior, rusted pipes, bathroom carpet dirty. Pool area over grown and everything old. Interior of pool, old lounge chairs, over grown parking lots. Spoke with desk regarding cancellation and they said not possible. Worn, torn, carpets, paint chipped everywhere, bathroom with rusted radiator, and sink plumbing. Linoleum worn and stained. Room was clean, well decorated, and comfortable bed. Complained again at check out on general badly run done condition and will not be returning. Poor value for the price.

Expensive but a bit tired. Carpet in the Glen building was filthy (looking). If I’m paying $450 for one night I expect better Needs investment

Property is tired. Carpeting needs to be replaced. Room furniture needs to be replaced/TVs updated. Staff was very accomodating, helpfull, energetic.

The Red Lion Inn is a classic Berkshires institution. It is owned by kind and lovely people. We stayed in the offsite Stevens House in Room 158. The room smelled moldy and the carpet must have been there since the 80s. Not awful but we would not want to stay in that House again. Apparently the main property is nicely kept and newer but somebody has to change that rug in 158. Whoosh. The front desk staff was fantastic. The internet is beyond abysmal.

Escaped into another world on each floor's hallway-the memorabilia and artwork spoke of an honest, New England history. The atmosphere was perfect for a genuine, original immersion into New England's past and LOVED going up and down the 150yr old elevator! Meals delicious w/excellent service. Only one issue we had: the AC in the room was difficult to adjust and were quite chilled even w/turning the thermostat up to 80 deg!!!!!!!!! as suggested by the front desk. Shall make this a yearly visit!

The location and the staff were great, but the hotel itself needs a major uplifting

The staff members made us feel very welcome. They went out of their way to make sure we enjoyed our stay. Our room was nice and mostly comfortable. The inn was a great place for a bunch of friends to hang out on a rainy day. There was a strong smokey smell in some parts of the inn. The room at the front corner was very noisy from the traffic outside.
