Mt. McKinley Princess Wilderness Lodge

Location was perfect for us! Especially enjoyed the sitting on the deck looking toward Denali!

The hotel is great and the views of Denali from the lodge were perfect. There are some nice hiking trails onsite and many more in the area in the Denali park. The only downside is the restaurants are overpriced for the quality.

Nice property with stunning views at main lodge. Some of rooms are not very accessible and require a lot of walking with no elevators to 2nd floor. Staff was helpful with bags though! The room is a little dated, but has a lodge feel so it didn’t bother me too much. The doors to rooms slam very hard and were noisy. No AC in room but they do have fans. The location and view from back deck is the best and why I would stay here again.

Well maintained older property.

The location and setting were fantastic. A little bit rustic but room was clean and comfortable, grounds are great with several nice walking trails, and the lodge was a nice place to hang out.

My only negative comment was some of the food. I thought was overpriced for the meal. The price didn’t reflect the value. I also realize that it was Princess food. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

First of all, rustic should not be e confused with “old looking” and “worn down”. Second of all, the property is severely isolated; therefore, there are no other eating options other than what Princess offers you. And when the lodge is full, everyone is fighting for a seat! Lastly, it was the end of the season and the staff was just tired! Definitely will recommend avoiding this property at all costs because when the weather is bad, the only positive aspect of the Lodge (a view of Denali) is gone. Stay elsewhere!!

We stay here yearly. The room was so warm we had to open the window on a rainy night.

Room was clean but very outdated, food was absolutely horrible. Staff was nice and helpful. Some nice trails but nothing else by hotel.

The staff was overworked. There are numerous buses that come and go making it difficult for them to care and serve guest in a welcoming way. The lodge provided no coffee or cold water area for guest. A guest could not get a simple coffee or snack when the lodge restaurants were closed. Our room offered no coffee or hot water pot, no refrigerator or microwave for convenience. During our trip this was the only room that did not offer these conveniences.

The lodge and the property were well thought out. The grounds were beautiful. The room was lovely and comfortable. What was the most impressive was the view. We were lucky enough to be pay off the 30%. The views of the mountain were amazing!

Beautiful views

The room was pleasant, very clean & the en-suite shower room very good. The room was slightly dark due to the woodland setting but this was a positive as the room remained cool. There is no A/C or fridge within the room. There was an ice machine, vending machine & washer/drier if needed on the ground floor. The setting of this lodge is magnificent with amazing views of Denali from the deck. The snack food was excellent as was the coffee shop. We didn’t dine at the lodge apart from a snack & coffee. I would definitely recommend this lodge.

It isn’t necessary close to Denali town, but only a 90 minute drive. Restaurants were great on site. We would stay there again, just a beautiful property

Absolutely a beautiful location and charming property. Seeing the Denali range on a clear day was an experience.

Bar closes too early, being that resort is in a remote area and nothing nearby. Front desk staff is great. I would not stay here again, since everything closes down around 9:30

Beautiful property. Everything was good.

Rooms are decent, the bedding was a bit scratchy. The campus is tucked in the woods so it’s very peaceful. The food at the hotel restaurants are OK, nothing special. The hotel is a good 2 hours away from the Denali park entrance, in case you’re driving yourself like we did.

Busy place with tour buses and crowds. so no room at the 1 nice restaurant without reservations. Food at pub was mediocre, but the staff was excellent,
