It was great options to choose from for what you wanted for your meals. The harbor store carries ice cream which is so delicious. We had to have it everyday. The scenery was so magical and we enjoyed our relaxation there. Next year we hope to bring our extended family to enjoy this magical place.

Beautiful property No breakfast, remote locale

What a pleasant surprise. We needed a place to stay around Lake Champlain at the last minute and found a deal here. Wow. Two restaurants, a large lakefront, historic buildings, and tons of activities. We wished we had reserved two nights! Everything was great.

We have returned over and over again to Basin Harbor; this time for one night to celebrate our anniversary. Think of it as a "Dirty Dancing" type resort. The grounds are beautiful and they have all that you could want as far as available exercise activities: large pool, tennis and pickelball courts, well-equiped exercise facility, great lake swimming facilities, kayaks, fishing, boats of all kinds, and golf. We played golf both days we were there and the course was in great shape.

Staff, clean room

Historical location. Plenty of things to do at location. Enjoyed our stay.

Very expensive resort hotel with not many room amenities. This place was one of the most expensive, definitely out in the boonies hotel we stayed in our long road trip. We were looking for a place to stay and it was later in the evening, and this was one of the only options in the area. The staff was very friendly, but we did not use any of the outdoor activities. We stayed in the main lodge and even though our room had a living room area, we were surprised to find NO Television in the room! The only TV was in a public space. The bathroom had one small shelf to put your toiletries, which was very inconvenient, and I could not find a hair dryer. The shower was one of the small capsule style like in Europe, so no elbow room. We did go down to their Red Mill restaurant and the staff was very accommodating to get us seated near a TV for the NFL game. We also liked the snack bar downstairs the next morning & got a yummy fresh croissant & cappuccino for breakfast.

Our basin harbour stay was amazing. The staff were so great and attentive. The grounds and accomodation is stunning. It was clean and beautifully presented. The breakfast is also amazing. We absolutely loved our stay and would definitely stay again.

Place was old. Paid for the stand alone two bedroom cottage with an fireplace and we lit a fire. Room filled with smoke, they moved us to a nicer place but it was just a different stay. Off the grid almost out in the middle of nowhere. Thin walls, single door handle locked rooms. Just not what we are used too. For the price I would not stay here again

Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Room was small but fit our needs.

Surprisingly a very nice upscale resort that the photos in Expedia did not do justice. Awesome accommodations and good dining options which can be rare in remote areas of VT

Beautiful location!!

I did not get the room I booked. Room was not deluxe, twin beds instead of queen
-
The golf course left a lot to be desired. It was not well maintained and not a very hospitable staff. We were very disappointed.

Basin Harbor was amazing. The views were breathtaking and the people were very accommodating and the stay was great. We definitely would go back.

We loved swimming in the lake at the resort and at Button Bay Park. My husband visited the nearby Marine museum, and I had a wonderful visit at the Shelburne Museum. The staff were professional and extra courteous! Only two things that I would change: The breakfast options were extremely limited. Large Buffet in main dining room, or coffee and small choice of pastries at the main lodge store. Sub par coffee machines in the room. I recommend adding a place to get good coffee and a small continental breakfast on site. The other issue that we had is the trail to Button Bay park was not well marked, the signage needs to be enhanced. We got slightly lost, but met a couple the next day who got really lost for the same reason. I went to Vergennes, 15 minutes away to find good coffee and there are some nice small shops there.

Quiet, private, great location nestled in a protected harbor and Lake Champlain; nice swimming area in the Lake as well as a beautiful outdoor pool. Well-maintained golf course, dining options, even a "snack shack." 90 minute "shipwreck" cruise on the Lake was fun (underwater drone utilized to actually show us some of the 200 wrecks that litter the bottom of Lake Champlain). Our stay was made most wonderful by the awesome staff, most especially the front desk people who have great attitudes and a willingness to go out of their way to be helpful; all were amazing but especially Tanner and Zee! Thank you for making a first time visitor feel right at home!
