Love this resort. Activities, game and movie room, on-site little farm with sheep, goats, donkeys, llamas and the outdoor pool is heated. Staff is super friendly and accommodating.

Amazing experience. The resort was beautiful, views amazing, beds very comfortable, staff was super nice and helpful. The kids had so much fun with the farm animals and activities. Game room has all free games and hours of entertainment for my two. The breakfast was so good, we will definitely be back!

Several issues marred what should have been a pleasant stay: 1. Elevator floor and hallways carpeting were not only filthy but also extremely worn, giving a poor first impression upon arrival. 2. Room doors showed obvious neglect with missing paint, suggesting a lack of basic maintenance throughout the property. 3. Luggage assistance is apparently unavailable. Though your front desk staff did manage to find a young man wiling to help my husband, this service should be standard at a high-end resort, not an exception. 4. Room amenities were substandard, with the throw blanket on our bed having hundreds of pulls, indicating either age or poor quality. 5. Lobby decor was particularly disappointing. The current IKEA-style furniture feels completely inappropriate for an old New England inn. On previous visits, the lobby featured high-end furniture that complemented the age and style of the hotel. The current furnishings diminish the historic character that makes your property special.

The hotel itself is beautiful and comfortable. The lobby is lovely, the front porch has tons of seating, and while the rooms are a little dated, that's part of the charm—I wouldn't want a fully modern renovation. Everything was clean and comfortable. We tried both the bed and the sofa bed (traveling with kids), and both were great. They even provided a crib for my daughter. At $500 a night, I expected something nice, but this went beyond expectations. I've paid the same elsewhere for places with half the amenities and staff. A really clean, comfortable experience with lots of activities to choose from. A few small things kept it from being perfect. Our in-room phone didn't work to reach the front desk, which was a challenge the first night when we needed to confirm they were bringing a crib. I'm not sure it ever got fixed. It also would have helped to know upfront that the breakfast buffet only charges for kids over five. When I asked, the front desk told me it was $18 per child, and with two small children I was nervous about the cost—but we ended up not being charged for their food at all. Finally, I believe the s'mores used to be included. If there's a set time when everyone does s'mores, why not fold it into the experience? It seems like such a low cost that I'm curious why they changed it, or whether it was just a way to trim expenses and make a little profit. That part felt a bit odd.

Overall I love this hotel but that was a weird experience in the wine cellar. And the hot tub was closed the 3 days we were there so that was disappointing.

I don't like how families with unruly children aren't reined in. I don't like adults leaving their garbage on coffee tables/chairs after they're done andnot being called on it. I don't like the dogs given free run of the lobby on a leash. Should have secluded areas for pets. Service dogs obviously excluded.

Its just a beautiful property! Well I could have and should have booked a room with a Mountain View and a bit larger room, but thats on me

My daughter and I went up to the white mountains to celebrate her graduation from elementary school. The hotel and grounds were absolutely beautiful and the staff was extremely nice and accommodating. The spa services were wonderful and really made my kiddo feel special. This isn't even a real complaint, but the website (and QR code in the room that links to it) had some pretty outdated menus. Obviously not a huge issue or disappointment, but they advertised some pretty fancy hot chocolates and my daughter was definitely a little bummed that instead of the one with rainbow whipped cream and edible glitter - it was a regular hot chocolate like from a dispenser. We also went down to breakfast expecting to be able to order some of the amazing items that were listed and instead were met with a buffet. It was a good breakfast buffet - but the web menu had bananas foster French toast... so getting basic eggs and a pastry was also a little bit of a bummer.

    Nice view

The views were beatiful - the food was very good. It was expensive but at the same time the property was great so it was worth it.

Activities advertised included biking-they had none on site! Had to ask for hangars upon arrival, room only partially cleaned first day of 2 day stay. The pool area grass not mowed .This is not what one would expect from a “Grand hotel” and this is the third time we stayed here, much enjoying the 2 previous visits.I doubt we would come back!

We wanted to have dinner, but we're not able to be seated since we did not have a reservation. And there were low staffed, however, I think they suggested in the email to make a reservation for dinner. Unfortunately, we had a room next to the exhaust of the kitchen which was loud and smelly. The hotel was not fully booked, it was a pity we did not get a better room.
