The property had a fire and was shut down by the fire marshal when we arrived. We received no notice about this, and the property charged my card a month prior and tried to argue that they didn't when I requested a refund.

We showed up to our booking at the Econo Lodge on Friday to find it empty and taped off with police tape. The only piece of communication was a note taped to the door saying that the building had experienced a fire and was closed. They had charged my card a month before they were supposed to, never communicated about the fire they experienced, and then left us stranded the night we were supposed to check-in. So we didn’t actually get to stay at the Econo Lodge but based on their lack of communication, I do not recommend.

Fast forward to June 17th and Econolodge (not Expedia) charged me for my ENTIRE stay (and yes it posted as in the money was taken from my account, not just pending.) I called the hotel and asked why this was done. They actually stated “said so we couldn’t cancel bc there was a music festival happening” - This should have been my first red flag. Fast forward to about 2 or 3 weeks ago, I learn through a Facebook group this location had a fire (and I am sympathetic to those who lost their lives and their loved ones, let’s not get that confused in all this). Yes, you read that correct. The hotel did not call or email me letting me know anything had happened. I immediately used the Expedia app to attempt to contact them bc they were not answering any phone calls. I got no response to them about anything. The only replies were obvious preprogrammed messages (see attached photos) bc they are absurd in asking me how my stay was and to leave them a review…welp, here I am. Asking for this hotel and Expedia to make things right. This is no way to run a business and if it ever opens again, I felt this situation needed to be known bc this festival happens every year and I don’t want another person to get scammed.

There were not amenities. There was no hotel. There was no stay. The hotel had a fire, 3 weeks before my stay. Never notified me about any of this.

We arrived on 7/11 only to find that the hotel we paid for had burned down a week earlier. We were never notified !!! We found another hotel but had to pay an additional 30 dollars. Imagine our surprise at having to find other accommodations last minute!

NOTHING AT ALL!!! DIRTY room. No tissues on the premises. "we're out" Beg for extra towels. shampoo only for hair. No breakfast at all... only coffee in lobby certain hours and no coffee pot or Keurig in room.

No overhead lights in the pool area, just a couple of small security lights. Pporly lit parking lots. No A/C in room- it blew warm air. No breakfast. Staff seemed unconcerned by our concerns.

The sheets and bedding was dingy and look like it hadn't been changed had to ask for clean linen and looked the same way

The room had an odor. The blanket was stained. I usually do not complain but this wasn't very good imo. The people running it were very pleasant

The listing advertised breakfast, but there was no breakfast available. We were also surprised to be charged a $60 damage deposit upon arrival that was never mentioned beforehand. The room itself was outdated, with a pull-string light fixture, and the photos online did not accurately represent the room we were given. What was even more misleading was that the pool photos used in the listing were not even from this hotel—they were from another hotel down the street. Because of the condition of the property and the misleading advertising, we chose not to stay. Despite this, we were not given a refund. I would not recommend this hotel based on our experience.

Only 2 things bathroom needs shower bars for senior /handicap and a/c needs improvement

It was decently clean The pool was in a separate building. There was a dead tree hanging over my car. The stairs to use were uncomfortable, because they don't have a back. When I used the shower, it felt like I was going to fall through, then the water suddenly went cold and then back to hot. The a/c looked like someone had tried to take it off the wall. lf I was staying for more than a night, I would've gone elsewhere.
