Engine Introduces Truly Flexible Travel
From traveling workforces dealing with unpredictable project timelines to personal travelers concerned with potential COVID-related disruptions, it’s clear that flexibility is one of the most important elements to modern-day travel.
Aiming to provide peace of mind for travelers of all types, Engine is excited to announce new Flex coverage, which is now available on bookings at every hotel on the platform. Members who book Flex reservations can cancel their stay up until noon on the day of check-in without penalty or depart at any time during the reservation period and receive compensation for unused nights.
Savings add up
Many industries, such as construction, rely on mobile workforces that must remain on-site until a project is completed. However, project timelines can be unpredictable — and businesses often have no choice but to absorb the cost of any room nights that go unused when a crew wraps up early. For businesses like these, the financial gains from using Flex can be significant.
According to Engine data, members get an average of $440 back on bookings with Flex coverage added! Multiply that by large numbers of travelers and multiple projects per year, and the savings add up fast.
Cancel in a few clicks
Flex offers convenience as well as financial benefits. To cancel or end a reservation early, all members need to do is navigate to their itinerary in the Engine platform and select the option to cancel or check out early. The refund will be deposited instantly and automatically in the form of travel credit, which can be used on any future Engine booking.
This saves travelers and administrators the time and effort of having to call hotels, change itineraries and attempt to get money back. Plus, Flex can be used under any circumstances. Unlike travel insurance and other similar policies, members don’t need a qualifying reason to cancel a reservation with Flex.
Evolving to meet members’ needs
Engine’s enhanced Flex coverage is just one of many ways the company is continually evolving to better serve its members — particularly as our changing world brings new complications for travel and on-site work. For example, a new self-serve trip extension feature makes it effortless and instant for travelers to add nights to a stay.
“Our focus on serving our members’ unique needs has always involved responding to market conditions,” said Elia Wallen, founder and CEO of Engine. “We’ll continue to innovate and add features that empower our members to make smarter, more efficient business travel decisions for their schedule and for their company, so they can focus on the important work at hand.”
Flex is available on all bookings of eight rooms or less (with the exception of same-day bookings for a single night).
