My Place Hotel - Amarillo West/ Medical Center, TX

Check in staff was very nice. Great room! Very clean. Comfortable bed. Great value, especially compared to Abilene. Lots of dudes hanging around both entrances drinking after dark made it a bit intimidating to go out alone. Coffee in the lobby wasn't made.

Overall this is a great place to stay especially if you'd like to have a kitchen. It's important to note that while there is nothing in the kitchen cupboards you just have to ask at the desk and you can get a bin of kitchen items that are sufficient. My only complaint is with the front desk. When someone was there they were helpful, but nearly Everytime we went to the desk it was empty with a sign saying to use the phone on the lounge to call them but no one ever answered. Eventually someone would show up but had to wait a lot longer than was acceptable.

We booked/stayed 3 nights while visiting family in Amarillo and would definitely recommend this hotel! It's very conveniently located, is clean and comfortable, and the staff were very helpful and friendly. Check in/out was fast and simple and pricing was very favorable. One travel tip - the rooms have full size refrigerators (a nice amenity) so if you are needing ice, you can call ahead and they will turn on the ice maker before your arrival so you will have it when you get there. Overall, it was a safe, clean and comfortable stay and we would choose it again for our next visit.

The room was very nice. The toilet is too low for a person with disabilities. They have no ice machines. A freezer in your room you make ice in. We turned it on at check-in and only had 12 cubes by the next morning. No hair dryer in the room.

Plumbing issues and entire place seemed old and run down.

When I arrived the night concierge was prompt to arrive when I followed the instructions to page them. They were very helpful and got me sorted quickly for how late it was. Expedia didn't mention a pet deposit but the concierge explained it to me and was very helpful in adding the nonrefundable deposit to my card. The room was clean, had lots of amenities and the A/C worked well. I had an easy time checking out, it was seamless. Also, all the staff I met were cheerful and polite! The maintenance staff on duty when I was checking out, when he saw my dog, even explicitly mentioned the dog treats at the counter and encouraged me to get one for my pup. Even though it was a short stay for me, for the price ($99 +tax +$40 pet deposit) it was so worth it to be able to rest. The bathroom worked well as well, water was hot instantly. I'll stay here again when traveling with my pet through Amarillo. Thank you staff for the wonderful visit!
