The Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island

Amazing trip to Amelia island. Such a nice resort.

When we arrived, we were somewhat surprised at the condition of the hotel, being a part of the Ritz Carlton chain. The hotel was rundown, floors were not swept or clean. Our hotel room smelt like dog urine. Will not go back.

The beach access and rooms were the positives. Aside from my experience at Salt, which was excellent, the other food options were medicore

Great place to stay.

I think of a Ritz Carlton as an over the top experience but I feel the Amelia Island Ritz is underwhelming. With all resort fees, parking cost etc., the nightly room charge was $1400. That is no food or activity charges. We were disappointed their “Salt” restaurant is closed on Sunday and Monday so did not get to eat there. Other eating options are fine but not special by any means.

Excellent staff. Attentive to detail. Hotel is not a Ritz Carlton. Missing all out service and a facilities you pay for. Lobby bar closed until 3pm, gourmet restaurant closed Sunday and monday. No service outside areas. Not a Ritz when you have to buy a bottle of wine and plastic cups to enjoy overlooking the ocean.

As other reviewers have said the service and personnel were of the highest standard. Welcoming, friendly, but not intrusive, extremely accommodating to special requests. Such exceptional hospitality service is becoming rare, but this property is a model of guest services. The food was excellent whether it was a snack or a full meal. Beautiful spa and many places to hang out and relax quietly. The room was very quiet. Beds were comfortable. When we checked out we notified the front desk that the tub/shower drain was emptying very slowly and there was standing water. Not a real problem during our stay, but wanted to inform them.

We stayed at this Ritz on our honeymoon over 30 years ago, had my 50th birthday party at Salt with guests for a weekend, stayed there for our 30th wedding anniversary and had dinner at Salt also (I highly recommend Salt), stayed many holidays with our children and friends, car shows, and it is still such a wonderful resort. You cannot go wrong staying at this beautiful resort. We have loved it for over 30 years and hope to keep going there for many more years to come. All of the staff is great, but a special shout out to Leticia. Thank you for helping us.
