The Surf Beach Motel

Proximity to beach access. The shore is about a 3 minute walk from the motel room. The room was small and quaint, but tidy and clean. The restaurant and bar were nice. We ordered the fried shrimp basket and mixed drinks and both were perfectly made. The water pressure in the shower and hot water were lacking. The hotel is almost 70 years old, so with that understanding, I wasn't too upset about it; just a little inconvenienced. The bed was not comfortable for me. I woke up very stiff and sore.

No big mirror for a full body image in room # 5. You are not able to see how your clothes are fitting. The wall in the bathroom was dirty. The parking lot needs paving. There are no usb ports anywhere. There are no shelves in the bathroom to set your stuff on.

inside of the room was very clean and nice , though small, but ok for 2 people. The outside needed fresh paint and curb appeal was poor. exterior of door and walls very dirty and needed paint. Some landscape would have been nicer.

No one at front office upon arrival. Had to search for room key. TV was not easy to work too many remotes and batteries were dead. Smokers at next room. Yuck!

Was unable to take warm hot shower. Either it would not get warm or would not stay warm. Had to take a cold shower. Also the bed would make noise everytime you got in and out. Felt at times it was going to collapse.

It was good till Thursday they had a band and our room was right there and it was so loud it was like the band was in the room with us

convenient location, reasonable rates, I use the motel to bridge a few day before arrival or after departure from a longer VRBO rental if I cant get the full reservation duration.

The price point. The bed was so comfortable. I wish it had a pool

The bed was very comfortable and the room was spotless. Lots of clean towels already in the room. The bar and deck restaurant on property was extremely convenient. The beach access was right across the street and an easy walk! Loved it, great value for the price! Old Florida motel vibe and very clean.

Clean room. Comfortable bed. Area. Keys did not want to work on the doors to the room so I had to walk all the way around to get to my car. You nearly get hit trying to walk across the street to go to the beach or drive for that matter.

The bed was softer than most hotels and comfortable. No instructions upon check in- not where to park, not that there was 2 different keys to the locks so when we split them up for 1 key each, we got locked out! Had to wait for the spare keys to the room to be “found” by manager on duty. The WiFi NEVER worked so if you need WiFi go somewhere else! We had 3 different WiFi choices listed in our room and none ever showed up in lists as available WiFi. The manager gave us another one to try and it was listed but always said no signal. Totally useless. The “coffee maker” listed in the room amenities was a Keurig. There were 4 kcups in the room - all 4 were decaf. So we didn’t have coffee either. There is no ice machine. The room was a little dirty. There was a pile of junk beside the wall next to the chair-obviously had not been cleaned. The shower walls had dirt and soap scum around the walls. The bathroom wall had dirty hand prints? There aren’t any blackout curtains just wide slat blinds so if you aren’t an early morning person- good luck sleeping in.

I love the comience to the beach and how safe we felt staying there. A pool would have been nice, but it was a fun stay anyway.

Location good for beach access. Room was very clean. Staff answered all questions. Shower water pressure was awesome!!! Bathroom sink barely any pressure at all. Toilet paper holder in bathroom was rusty. Room door was glass and shades were broken . All shades in room had no sticks to open and close them

Location They put us is in a much smaller room than booked. Booked 500 square feet room with carpet many months in advance because we have a 20 month old boy that has to have room to run and play. We were put in a 200 square foot room with tile and no room since there were 2 big beds. Upon arrival, I asked the woman handling booking about the mix up. She stated that “a family that comes monthly and stays in a room adjacent to the one we booked, had brought extra people and they wanted their rooms next to each other.” So we were moved to a room less than half the size of the one we booked. Basically making us feel like the other visitors were more important than us. I contacted the property, and they were unresponsive to resolve this. Until check out and asked how our stay was.. I calmly stated the problem and it seemed there was no care to resolve the problem since we were leaving that day anyways. We have stayed at The Surf the last 4 years, in the same room. We have been loyal. But the disrespect and lack of care was appalling. Those with young children know how challenging it would be to contain them in such a small space. Days at the beach were great. But when it came time to unwind at night, we listened to our child scream for hours in frustration because there’s no where for him to go anywhere other than on the bed where we had to fear he would fall on the hard tile that covered the entire room. We are very simple and I am not one to leave reviews. I understand mistakes happen sometimes but this rally made our vacation less relaxing than just staying at home. DO NOT STAY HERE.

This is our 2nd trip to the Surf. We stayed in Room 1 with 3 bedrooms. The food was fabulous and the room was the perfect size for us 3 ladies. We will be back. All was good.

Need bars in shower, floor slippery, instructions to the TV

Everything was perfect for my daughter, grandson, and me. We did encounter a minor issue with the refrigerator leaking, but I informed management immediately, and we placed towels on the floor to handle it. My daughter and I also enjoyed a lovely lunch and cocktails at the onsite restaurant. Our food was great! I would recommend this property for a great stay. Well it took us a few minutes to figure out which remote worked the tv. We then had to figure out how to get to movie channels. We watched Cartoon network for 1/2 the day Friday afternoon . That was some fun memories. LOL Might be a nice suggestion to create a 1 page guide on the remotes.

On site restaurant and bar was good. The office was difficult to find. There was 3 remotes for the TV. Wifi didn't work.

Location to visited sites was okay. Had trouble with TVs, hot water, and bed was very hard. Bar and bands closed at 9pm on weekends.
