Location and comfort. Access to power strip or power cord for charging. No free water as instructed at check-in. Call made no difference, no free water delivered, nor access to drinks. I was told to drink tap water.

The History of this place is amazing. How many people get to stay in the same inn George Washington went?.The location could not be beat if you want to stay in Annapolis. This property has three locations, I stayed at the Maryland Inn.

Staff was lovely and the location can’t be beat. The Maryland Inn building is old, and some of the elements are thus seemingly harder to clean (ie if you’re weird about bathrooms being spotless, this one isn’t for you).

After booking, I go t an email from Historic Inns of Annapolis, indicating that they would be adding on a $30/day "Historic Preservation Fee." This wasn't a tax or regulatory fee, just something they charge. This was clearly nothing more than an attempt to raise the daily rate $30 beyond the listed rate. When I called them about it, I reached a call center somewhere. The person read me a script but could not answer my basic question of whether they would be expecting more from me than what I had paid through Booking.com. So, I had to call the front desk. They looked into it and told me I would not be charged. This process added a half hour, and a lot of aggravation, to the otherwise smooth booking process. FYI - The FTC now says that it is illegal for lodging facilities to add charges for basic lodging beyond what is listed at your time of payment. Hopefully, that will put an end to "resort fees" and other fraudulent charges. I would have thought a place like this was above that.

Second time staying here and we love it!!

This was one of the most memorable trips we have taken! Thank you to the team on site and the team at Expedia!

Note: there is a small fitness room that we didn’t know existed. Not big but nice to know it is there for future stays.

The staff waited until exactly 04:00 to check us in. There were blood stains in our room. The mattress did not have a cover, had to use the linens.

However, I was disappointed that I wasn't aware when booking that our room would be in a different building from the main hotel. I would have preferred to know that beforehand so I could make an informed choice about the accommodations. The biggest issue for me was that we encountered a roach in our room. I understand that older historic buildings can come with challenges, but once I saw it, it honestly made me uncomfortable for the remainder of our stay. I found myself constantly wondering whether there might be another one, which took away from my ability to relax and enjoy the room. I want to emphasize that the staff were great, and I don't blame them personally for the situation. However, between not realizing we would be staying in a separate building and the pest issue, I left feeling that the experience didn't live up to what I expected from the hotel.
