Nice stay
-
The room was very clean. The bed was so comfortable, with 4 pillows available. There was a sofa in the room, along with a desk, and an armoire and drawers. The shower had excellent water pressure. Adequate towels and wash cloths that were very clean. The room refrigerator was in working condition. We did not use the TV, microwave, or coffee maker-so I can’t comment on those. Being the July 4th holiday weekend, I expected it to be noisier than what we’d prefer, but even though there were many others there, there were no noise issues. We attend at least one concert a year at Pine Knob, and this will be our go to place for our stays!

Overall, the hotel was OK however, there are issues with the key system that kept me from giving more stars. I was locked out of my room for hours at a time and the hotel service was unable to resolve this issue.

Clean and pleasant stay. Would stay again

Breakfast bar needs up grading no waffle maker . No English muffins. Breakfast attendant was hard to find . Coffee running out .frozen donuts terrible

The bed was very comfortable and the pillows.Breakfast ended by 8am it was not refilled

#1> Some reviews and AI mention that there is a $5 parking Fee. That is NOT correct. There is NO parking fee per night. #2> Expedia has an add on for a Continental Breakfast for $12 per night. This is NOT needed as the Sonesta hotel offers a free continental breakfast. The breakfast begins at 7am and if you want a good selection be there at 7am. (Restocking of breakfast is sometimes lacking.) Keep in mind there is NO oatmeal and no waffle maker. The selections consist of one type of potato, one meat and one egg, donuts, muffins, two types of cereal, OJ, Apple juice and coffee. #3> Indoor pool is nice, but enforcement of adults only from 10PM to 11PM does not happen. #4> Court yard is clean an offers a nice seating area but some people choose to smoke off the balconies and smoke in the area so keep that in mind. #5> Wendy's, Taco Bell and KFC are within walking distance of the hotel. Had room 127 and it was quite until 12:15am when some thought it was good idea to turn the TV on full blast. That was corrected quickly by the front the desk. My wife and I would stay there again.

Staff was very kind and helpful. Great shower pressure. Rooms were nice with comfortable pillows and bedding. However, strong sense of body odor upon entering room. There were also Roly-Poly bugs in the bathroom.

Everything was great!

Our room was not ready when we arrived. We ended up booking a room at another hotel.
-
Rooms are nice, decently appointed. Amenities and value are super solid. Stay was lovely and helpful

We were pleasantly surprised. There were a lot of young people staying there and I thought it might be a problem but none what so ever. I will choose a room with a balcony though next time. All in all, it was worth the amount we spent.

Tv did not work and front desk instricted me to just unplug it. And fridge did not work

When I raised the issue with management, I had to wait during a “business meeting.” The manager walked by to watch TV in the lobby instead of addressing the problem promptly. He did compensate me for the inconvenience and promised the room would be serviced first thing the next morning, but follow-through remained inconsistent. The next day brought mixed results: a clean bathroom but only a half-clean room. Empty soda cans, trash in a bin, and dirty counters persisted, making the space feel neglected. Overall, disappointing. There were moments of recovery, but repeated lapses in housekeeping severely impacted the stay. Suggestions: a reliable housekeeping checklist, better guest issue communication, and accountable, empathetic staff. Consider confirming daily service times in advance.

Only drawback was not knowing there was a breakfast that had to be paid for.
-
Nice modern hotel just off highway with a few restaurants close by.

Great location north of Detroit. My family attended a concert in Lake Orion, and this was a wonderful place to stay overnight afterward. Spacious room, comfortable beds and pillows, nice bathroom and shower, plush towels. Excellent buffet breakfast was included with large, attractive dining area in motel lobby. There were a few carpet stains and pieces of packing tape on the wall that looked leftover from what we guessed was a recent celebration in the room. Probably more attention is needed by housekeeping to details like that.
