Everything was great! Staff was helpful.

The ambiance was lovely and peaceful. The room and bathroom well appointed and clean. We were in town for a wedding and it was a very convenient location.
-
We had a relaxing stay with breakfast included and a secluded pool - plenty of shops and restaurants nearby situated in the hills of Avon, CT.
-
Close to things in the area. Price was a little more than I had hoped.
-
Loved how clean the grounds were Room was older, had a musty smell and bathroom had stains.
-
Convenient and nice size room. Rooms a little dated with decor and carpeting
-
Clean rooms with that old school charm

I love the esthetic of the hotel. I've stayed there a few times. I like its old world charm, canopy beds and spiral staircases. The woman at the front desk was cold and unwelcoming. She's consistently that way when I encountered her on my previous stays. The other staff members are warmer less frigid.

Hotel needs a lot of repairs and cleaning. A gym with equipment that works and is safe.

The property was very quaint however they use something like popery or some kind of scent all over the hotel that made me incredibly sick all night The night staff man from Jamaica was incredibly nice and accommodating I literally was having trouble breathing The bed was rockhard There was only one place to charge your phone in the room, which was across from the bed, which was incredibly inconvenient I had to wait in the morning for almost 15 minutes for someone to come to the front desk to get my receipt It was horribly overpriced The room was musty and humid, and the air-conditioning did not work well For the money spent on the room it was definitely not worth it I would’ve had a more comfortable stay at a Hilton I think for someone doing a wedding there or something it’s a beautiful property, but it did remind me of a nursing home I give this a two The overwhelming smell that obviously was covering up mustiness The bed was a rock hard The hallway was noisy The cleaning woman in the morning watched me walk out to my vehicle and said are you checking out frankly if I don’t have to check out till 11 o’clock she shouldn’t be asking that question I felt it was very rude It was incredibly overpriced for what you received for it The room had only one place to charge a phone across from the bed, and that was very inconvenient. There should be a plug to plug in your phone near your bed. The room was musty. It was overwhelmingly sprayed with something flowery that made me incredibly sick and I could not breathe in the morning. Whatever you’re spraying in that hotel, you need to stop because it literally makes people sick especially people like me who have asthma and issues with fragrances. It’s totally unacceptable and should be a forewarning for anyone coming in. The smell is overwhelming The hallway was very noisy Making it difficult to sleep I would never make a point of staying there again I would rather drive out of my way spend half the money and not have to deal with coughing all night because I can’t breathe There was also a dehumidifier in the room, which is a complete turn off to me I was raised in Connecticut I was driving through and honestly, for such an upscale area you would think that there would be more attention put into detrimental things instead of decorating the place Such as working air-conditioning Copper cleaning without harsh, flowery smell smells The shower was dirty. It had bugs in it. There is a hairdryer attached to the wall right next to a sink which raises to me a safety issue, especially if a child is washing their hands and gets curious and turns on the hairdryer. Then you have an electrocuted kid.

Great pool and restaurant!

I really enjoyed the Seasons bar (nice menu and dinner, Jeff was great) and the quiet pool.

The free breakfast was a good way to start my day. Did not spend much time on the grounds. One afternoon I used the pool along with of my relatives that I had been visiting. We also ate dinner in the restaurant that night. Perfect afternoon and evening. Wait staff was great. What I will have to say (and I will take some of the blame) was that the tub in my bathroom was somewhat dirty the day I checked in, but I rinsed it out . The stopper for the tub was completely out , so I set it back in. The next day I took a shower, the tub backed up. I was in a hurry that morning to leave, so I made the assumption the tub would be drained when I got back that night The tub still had water in it when I returned. It was late in the evening, so I did not call anybody regarding it. That night, I attempted to turn on the TV and it didn’t work. I called down to the desk and there were no workers available, and the person at the desk said there was an outage. He also mentioned that he would leave a note for the morning person and I could get my room changed if I would like. I had no interest in changing rooms - I would have to repack and unpack. I did not mention anything about the tub at that time, as I thought I would be speaking with somebody from the front desk in the morning. No one ever called me back. I ended up pulling the TV out as it was on a swivel, and there were “0n/off”buttons, and channel up/down buttons on it. I was able to get the TV to work. Left msg at front desk re: issues

Pool was a nice surpise

The hotel exuded New England charm in the reception, halls, and rooms. The dining and bar were excellent. I will return in the future.

Nice rooms, need a little updating but still very nice, beautiful grounds. Had dinner and breakfast there and both were very good.
