Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Cleveland Avon

The room was fine, new and very comfortable beds, but the 2nd. day we asked for towels only and got neither towels or maid service, which would have been OK since the maids didn’t show up until way after they might have disturbed us. Free breakfast is awful looking (but there is toast) - eggs, little omelets and sausage looked inedible. Very limited stock of snacks and food in the commissary. And: note - the McDonalds that’s across the parking lot is a disaster. Rude staff, very slow, and cooking oil that might have come out of a long-haul truck. Good luck!

Staff was friendly, room was clean and comfortable.

I booked, and fully paid for, my reservation days before arrival. Upon arriving, I learned the hotel was at occupancy and my room was given away. 5 of us crammed into a small hotel room and I slept on the floor with a blanket. Absolutely awful experience and the hotel staff was not any help.

The air conditioner was leaking and the carpet was wet.

The first room had bugs in the bed. In the second room, the showerhead was broken and sprayed water outside the shower and onto the floor. We also experienced constant stomping and noise from the room above us. While the location was convenient and the hotel was able to accommodate us on short notice, the cleanliness, maintenance issues, and repeated room changes made the stay frustrating and uncomfortable.

The room was clean. Check in was fine. No daily room cleaning even though we asked for it. The complementary coffee and tea was not maintained. Staff did not appear to be present much of the time.

We had no hot water. When we went down for breakfast and came back to our room, they had deactivated our room card. The person behind the desk was not friendly. Breakfast bar was depleted. Would not recommend this hotel.

Pool was not available, microwave didn't work properly, no in room phone and the elevator was extremely sketchy.

Facility is nice, but there isn't much nearby except for a McDonald's. However, a 10 min. drive away is Avon Commons with a variety of food and shopping options. The biggest drawback is that the road access to the hotel is blocked at rush hour by drivers coming from the Avon Commons area who are trying to get on the freeway.

Was not notified at time of booking that hotel was under construction.

We were in town dropping off our son for the military. Knowing we like fairfield hotels i decided to book across town a little because of accommodations in the past. We booked this hotel for a pool.. that was advertised still online when we booked. To give my little kids something to look forward to. It was never told it was closed.. even upon check in. Hours later when we went to look for it .. it was closed. As I understand refurbishment is necessary.. so is open communication. I was really disappointed after already having an emotional day.

I would recommend NOT coming to this hotel while under renovations. Pool/fitness closed. Stacked or large dumpsters right at the back windows and I was woken up by what I think were raccoons fighting. Floors looked like they had not been vacuumed in days. As for room, no shower curtain upon arrival, door deadbolt jammed and bathroom door would not close as it dragged on carpet. Just too much work to be done. Bright side: staff upon arrival very nice and welcoming.

Room was very clean and updated. The staff went above and beyond. When i booked, Expedia had breakfast starting at 6am. I mentioned that to the front desk and she left a note to leave out muffins that we could grab and go at 6:30, when we needed to leave for volleyball.

This location is undergoing renovation and it could use some updating. However, our room was clean, comfortable, and quiet. I appreciated the room amenities, bathroom toiletries, and well lit bathroom mirror. The breakfast offered quite a few options and the coffee was nice and hot. The elevator felt very old and slow and possibly needs service to make it smoother.
