We paid nearly $300 for one night at this hotel and had an absolutely unacceptable experience. We were placed in a first-floor room directly next to/near a wedding party that was still going on late at night, with loud music and noise making it extremely difficult to relax or sleep. What makes this especially frustrating is that when we checked in, we were asked which floor we preferred, but no one told us that there was an active wedding event being held on the first floor or that choosing that floor would mean staying directly next to a loud event late into the night. Had we been given that information, we obviously would not have chosen to stay on that floor. When you're charging nearly $300 for a single night, guests should not have to spend the evening listening to a wedding party outside their room and then be told that there are no other rooms available because the hotel is fully booked. If the hotel knows a large, loud event is taking place, guests should either be informed before being assigned a room in that area or those rooms should be priced accordingly. We chose to stay here expecting a relaxing overnight stay, not to feel like we were unwillingly attending someone else's wedding reception. For the amount we paid, this was incredibly disappointing and absolutely not the experience we expected.

The hotel is on a stunning piece of property that has beach access to the ocean and a beautiful water fountain. The hotel has been recently renovated. Staff was very helpful.

Great little place to escape the world. Quiet, clean, modern. The staff was great! Easy parking. Path down to the beach.

Good option for a couple of nights in the area if there’s not a conference going on there. Nothing fancy and not large rooms but clean and comfortable for a fair price.

Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely consider staying here again. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a clean, comfortable, and welcoming place to stay.

The room was clean but it smelled like wet socks. I wasn’t physically challenged but stayed in the room with accommodations. One end of one of the grab bars in the shower was pulled loose.

On the positive side, the property itself is beautiful and the private beach is a real highlight. The historic setting of Tupper Manor is very attractive and pleasant to walk around. Complimentary coffee is also available, which is a nice touch. We stayed at the Wylie Inn at Tupper Manor for several days. The property and the historic Tupper Manor certainly have charm, but unfortunately our stay did not live up to what one should reasonably expect at a room rate of more than $200 per night. Before our arrival, I had specifically requested a quiet room several times. Because I had to make two separate reservations in order to cover the full length of our stay, I actually had several opportunities to repeat this request. The very first night was already disturbed by noise, so we had to change rooms. At first, the second room seemed as though it would be quieter. Unfortunately, the opposite turned out to be true. The stairwell door slammed loudly and regularly, the air-conditioning system in the hallway was extremely noisy, and there was apparently some kind of mechanical equipment – possibly a heat pump – either above or below our room that repeatedly switched on and off. It was not only audible; we could actually feel vibrations in the room. Another major issue is that Tupper Manor appears to host weddings very frequently. When wedding guests return to their rooms at 2 or 3 a.m., there can be considerable noise in the hallways. We were repeatedly woken up during the night. This was particularly disappointing because I had explicitly and repeatedly asked for a quiet room. I would expect a concierge to know the property, the location of the rooms and the typical sources of noise well enough to take such a request into consideration when assigning a room. Changing rooms yet again was not a reasonable option for us, as this would have meant another check-out at 11 a.m. followed by waiting until approximately 3 p.m. to check in again. There were also some issues with the exterior areas that simply do not match the standard one would expect. Although the property specifically emphasizes that it is a non-smoking hotel, numerous cigarette and cigar butts were lying around the entrance area.

Location, room, gym -- it was all really clean and the room was well equipped and decorated. The location is a dream, right on the beach. Nothing.
