Hotel Dega

There was garbage and food behind the sofa which my dog found immediately. Vacuuming behind sofa would have been nice prior to my arrival. The bathroom sink was clogged. I used q-tips to clean out disgusting hair and gunk to get the water to drain after brushing my teeth. Screen door on sliding door to patio would have been nice. Advertised private balconies. The neighboring room had large window looking directly at my patio. The person staying above me stomped like an elephant and kept opening and closing their sliding door. Very little, if any, sound reduction construction. A tad over $1,200 for three nights was too much for this location.

Staff ( Lisa) was the best. Bed little rough to sleep on. Other than that was quite pleasant. Recommend a stay there.

Great room! Terrible customer service. No one in the lobby. Lobby was closed my entire trip. It seems like they might use a call center but no one at site. Only the cleaning/maintance staff. They were an hour late checking me in and no one notified me. I had to call the hotel to get help and still no one came, just a text. It was weird and I wish they had a human at the desk.

I'm so grateful for dog-friendly properties. The room was spacious and clean. The fireplace was great for taking the chill off. Garbage cans around the property were helpful for dog waste disposal. The view was great and it was very quiet. Staff was very helpful as there was some issues with my reservation. They worked hard to rectify the situation and we enjoyed our stay worry free.

There is no staff, there were bloodstains on the sheets, we checked out early. And are still waiting for follow-up about a refund.

Beautiful property and nice location

Pluses: Location: You're a 5 minute drive to Doran Beach ($8 day use) and 7 minutes to Salmon Creek Beach (which we preferred). Staff: Super friendly and helpful. View: Lovely view of the Bay. A little strange: Design choices. Clearly going for modern design but if felt like a huge empty room with two beds. Lots of unused space and walls. There's Keurig in the room, but no water provided. You have to go outside to a fairly sketchy looking machine for water. I just filled the container with ice and let it melt overnight. Negatives: I'm not keen on the no staff on site after hours. I'm not comfortable with the security of the entry to room by code. My daughter asked, "how often do you think they change the codes?" These are personal preferences. Also, clearly, they've remodeled the property, and if you drive all the way around the parking lot, you can see piles of debris that was removed (a water heater, and drywall etc) Tacky and unsightly. Also, they've remodeled with home-depot style fixtures (I have the exact bathroom faucet cabinet in our guest bathroom), which I don't think will stand up to wear and tear. Recommend: Captain Davey's (5 minute walk) for coffee and/or ice cream. Limited hours. And there are several souvenir and restaurants just north of the hotel, by car.

Clean room

The location of Hotel Dega is hard to beat. You can walk right from the property along the Bird Walk that borders the bay all the way to the beach and the ocean. The rooms are beautifully decorated, each with a lovely private patio, and they’re dog-friendly, which was a huge plus for us. We especially enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub and gathering around the outdoor fire in the evenings. During our stay, we saw deer, a fox, and an incredible variety of birds. It’s also conveniently located within walking distance of restaurants and shops, making it easy to explore Bodega Bay without having to drive.

Bailey was awesome! Very helpful in helping us check in before and afterwards. Also provided recommendations for local brunch place which was awesome! Would book again.

The renovated room was beautiful and the location is perfect If you get a first floor room you will definitely hear everything happening above you. It will interrupt your sleep

Fabulous stay at Hotel Dega and highly recommend this hotel. Beautiful grounds, fabulous views, great location, and one of the most comfortable rooms we've stayed in.
