The Lodge at Bodega Bay

Very clean and relaxing. Beautiful view!

The one downside was the noticeable smell of cigar smoke when we entered our room. The staff offered to move us, but we chose to stay because everything else about the room was perfect. Housekeeping brought us an air freshener spray, which helped briefly, but the smell seemed embedded in the carpet and drapes and never fully went away. We really enjoyed the property and appreciated the staff’s efforts to help.

What a gem! First time at this property and we will be back. Beautiful grounds overlooking the bay and salt marsh. The sunsets were spectacular and particularly enjoyable sitting around one of the many fire pits or soaking in the hot club. Highly recommend.

The Lodge at bodega Bay if first class all the way. Our room on second floor overlooked the bay. The restaurant was very good. There is an infinity hot tub and heated pool. Staff goes out of there way to help!

Absolutely beautiful room. Beautiful views. Only complaint was no air conditioning. Loved the hot tub overlooking the water and spa. Would stay again.

It was our 5 year anniversary! Staff accommodated us with the room we requested. They left us a lovely message of congratulations and a nice bottle of wine with some artisan chocolates. We enjoyed ourselves and was very happy with our stay. Dinner service was nice. The host was very welcoming and helpful. Our server could have been more mindful of us but he was very nice. The spa and pool was perfect for a night cap. Late check out was great so we could enjoy our morning and not have to rush. Our room was accessible to the landscape and grounds. Had a great view of the ocean where we actually saw a humpback whale. Overall great experience 10/10

This is our go to get away. We come out at lease 2 to 3 times a year and it's always so welcoming!!

Clean room well maintained property with beautiful landscaping and surrounding scenery. Enjoyed a great meal at the dining room. overall a very pleasant experience.

View was exceptional Beautiful room Gorgeous grounds We called earlier in the day to ask about checking in early Since it was Labor Day weekend we weren’t able to get into a redwood park and were coming earlier We were told it wasn’t a guarantee but they would try to accommodate us We also tried to eat at a nearby crab shack but the line was half a block long We came to bodega bay an hour and half early Our room wasn’t ready so we asked to man checking us in if there were restaurants on site He told us to go to the fireside restaurant We walked there and found it was closed We sat in our car until 4 when I called to see if our room was ready We were told our bags would be waiting for us in our room I thought that was odd because our bags were in our car I walked back and picked our keys

Also the views are really nice and the space is pretty quiet.

Beautiful location and property. Certain dishes in Drake’s Restaurant - corn chowder soup, burrata and snap pea salad, pork chop and miso cod- are outstanding for dinner. Cozy room with fireplace and wonderful views from 2nd floor balcony. Access to bikes and Dorian Park along with our hike to Estero Americano Park rounded out are 2 night stay with use of the infinity hot tub and pool. S’mores in the evening by the lobby fire was a nice touch. Staff helpful and kind. Overall very relaxing stay!

I am extremely particular about cleanliness and odors. The room was extremely clean and there was no mildew odor which I thought might happen since the room was close to water. The staff was so helpful telling us what was available - hikes, night time s’mores, restaurant and parking pass to use for all the county parks. Every staff member especially in the dining room were extremely polite, efficient and nice.

The property is beautiful, the views of Bodega Bay are incredible, and the whole atmosphere made our anniversary feel very special. But what impressed us the most was the staff. Everyone we encountered was extremely friendly, helpful, welcoming, and genuinely made us feel like valued guests. We also had a wonderful experience at Drakes Sonoma Coast. We arrived only about 15 minutes before closing, and I honestly expected that we might feel rushed because it was so late. Instead, it was completely the opposite. The staff welcomed my wife and me warmly and treated us like exceptional customers. They never made us feel like we were inconveniencing them or that they were waiting for us to leave. They were kind, attentive, and professional until the very end. The food was also excellent! Those little things say a lot about a hotel and its people. You can have a beautiful property and amazing views, but it is the way people treat you that makes an experience memorable. The staff at The Lodge at Bodega Bay and Drakes truly made our anniversary feel special. Thank you to everyone who made our short stay such a beautiful experience. We left wishing we could have stayed longer, and we will definitely be back. Highly recommended — especially for couples looking for a beautiful and memorable place to celebrate something special. ❤️
